She was with Ten Years After - an odd coincidence as I just happened to think of Alvin Lee the other day. Alvin lead a good life and was a very sociable fellow. I met him in the Tree Cafe in Portland Maine in the late 1980's, I was sitting at a table and talking with Bebe Buel, whom I only knew casually (as did many people in Portland's scene back then), when Alvin sat with us and shot the breeze for about 20 minutes, then he had to make like a tree and leave, or perhaps he made like the wind and blew out of there, it was a ling time ago.
It is amazing how the different parts of life link together in odd ways, we are all connected, one way or another.

The video is great obviously. I was very little when the 1967 Summer of Love took place, but I lived in San Francisco for 2 years in the mid 1980s. I have looked in so many years at many videos of the Summer of Love in 1967 and each time I watch one I think that nowadays a spectacular gathering of this proportion where (forget about the drugs for a moment), people of so many different States in the US felt as one all together with simplicity. Today if such big gathering takes place, the news would be that an hater mass shouter killed thousands, fights among group of people would break out for futile reasons here and there. I am trying to say, unfortunately the feeling of the simple things, simple and deep human relations among so many strangers it is something I think we will never be able to feel again.
