Activated bluetooth can also cause problems on a daw like crackling sound. I solved the issue on my hp pavilion (ryzen 5, 16 GB ram, 500 GB SSD) by turning off the bluetooth module after I took over the power settings as you advised. Both Reaper and amplitube 5 max run like a charm now. But for me the last push in the right direction was turning off bluetooth. Hope this helps others, thanks for your videos on the subject. ОтветитьWhat are the risks of changing the priority of the CPU for Windows Audio? Will my CPU work more effective but ___?
I'm guessing it must work harder since it would be using one physical core instead of all available?
Thanks! That’s gold! I’ve planned up an update for my old budget laptop, but now I gotta squeeze it all
ОтветитьThank you sir.

ОтветитьSuper useful tips! Thank you!
ОтветитьA couple of free tool recommendations. I like to use Microsoft Autoruns to quickly manage what apps and services launch at startup (Logon and Services tabs). Regarding the setting of process priority and CPU affinity, those Task Manager settings can get reset when you restart. A better way to do it is to use Process Lasso from Bitsum (free) to make sure that those changes stay in place. I use it to set the priority/affinity of the audiodg process and my DAW. I think it is also a good idea to set the affinity of audiodg to hire number cores to avoid conflicts as Windows seems to like to use the lowest cores first.
ОтветитьThank you for an excellent and informative video!
ОтветитьI followed your instructions about audiodg.exe. In the same liste, I have also my D.A.W., Cubase Pro 12, with the same options. Should I set up my D.A.W. like in audiodg.exe?
ОтветитьNever expected to learn music production tips by Gabe N at Valve Software dot com
ОтветитьThank you for this!!!
ОтветитьYou’re a legend, thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise 🙏🏼
ОтветитьThis literally saved me from soooooo much anxiety and frustration. Ozone is so power hungry and your solutions resolved constant DAW crashes. Best vid on this topic I've seen. Thanks.
ОтветитьCan’t to get home and try this
ОтветитьExcellent, being a curious person I had found almost all of these settings. But I was unsure what would be best for music production. Seeing as I spent a small fortune on making a studio (a lot of it on the PC!) I found this video extremely helpful! Thanks for sharing the knowledge!
ОтветитьBeautiful and Helpful Video!!!!
Ответитьsetting audio to run on a single CPU core was disastrous for me and my 13400f. I would get worse glitches and cracks when assigning audiodg to a single core; and I tried all of them. What did help was disabling CPU 0 , which had the highest amount of interrupts according to LatencyMon. I left all the other cores on. Setting audiodg priority to high was helpful. (I use project lasso to make the change permanent, otherwise, task manager resets your priority settings whenever you restart or shut down the PC)
Oh, and disabling core parking was easily one of the best things I did to stop the small occasional dropouts. Worth mentioning.
I did this and my computer is now in the shop because it doesn't turn on.
Ответитьone of the best guide out there for sure, thanks a lot!!
ОтветитьWowwwwwww this just changed my life ❤
ОтветитьDamn. This was helpful. I also game on this laptop so I'll see if that was adversely affected and report back here if so.
ОтветитьVery helpful information!
ОтветитьExcellent stuff! Thank you.

ОтветитьThanks for the video.
Just curious, my computer does not display the USB settings option on the advanced settings under power options. Is there a way to fix this issue? Thanks in advance

ОтветитьMy advice is use the machines out there that work ! Then move it to the computer, trust me you will have better results, and no BS ! like a tascam dp24 just for the tracks, i still use Roland 2480 and these machine's don't cliche, i just saw an interview with Nuno from extreme he used a 4 track recorder for hole hearted, and used a crap mic, and that was the take they moved to a 2 inch tape in the studio, so don't think you can't do this ! cause its all been down before, remember nebraska bruce springsteen !
