One of the best intros ever, what an awesome film, one of my favourite films

It is a great openning and all that. But what he's saying... isnt it unsiversal? Heroin isnt a requirement to fall off the proverbial bandwagon. And if theres no heroin to ponpoint as the hangup... what then? I guess i should rewatch the movie, but my suspicion is, there's no answer. I'd forgotten about this oppening, and it describes my values now. 'Never needed drugs to be a bum. I just have a hard time being motivated enough to try to create motivation. I need to cultivate the ambition to become more ambitious.
And when another great character from another great piece of media wished me good luck, and bid me not to go hollow, i foolishly thought there was no threat of it. And im never lonely, never sad, quite content with my process. But i only saved up enough money for 1/2 a year before its all gone. I think i have to learn to see myself as pitiful as i should. I dunno. Any pointers, lads?

The opening and soccer game is such good efficient characterization, showing how sick boy is willing to trip people for his gain, spud is kind of a fumbling doofus, etc. And it's so stylish and iconic.

Trainspotting and Fight club have the same vibe of what's the fucking point of everything this is a masterful intro and dialogue. Its the Tyler Durden philosophy of not giving a shit about materialism and caring what other people think aka the complete opposite of the vanity-driven famous celebrity lifestyle. Obviously, this was before Fight Club but they basically deliver the same core themes. If this dialogue was narrated by Brad Pitt in Fight Club alot of Americans would be "This is fucking amazing". Even the choose life speech from both T1 and T2 could easily fit as dialogue in Fight Club. FUN FACT There is a copy of Trainspotting in the video shop scene in Fight Club as a reference to trainspotting, its really hard to miss though, u need to actually freeze frame the film as they didnt want an Ohh why is a copy of this film in Fight club? To me, even though a lot is different between the two films, the main subjects of both are questioning the values of society and status.

When he neglects going straight and choosing life in the beginning, we see a bunch of chaos on-screen but when he chooses life and goes straight at the end, it’s calm and optimistic.

Now that is a good heroin advert. I can't see why whoever runs marketing in Iran and Morocco hasn't thought of that.

My fave movie since 1996 when I watched it for the very first time. I was a student, I didn't take any drugs so far...
I understood the main topic wasn't drugs... How could I predict I'd have a trainspotter's life, although never been on heroin but some other shite. To escape life, no room for me there, the point of this movie btw.
Life didn't choose me I'd say in my case then I had to follow another path who did lead me to nothing. Soon dead anyway.
