These were mostly in rich folks homes. I remember seeing this stuff at other peoples houses, but not at mine.
ОтветитьNew forms of all these decorating trends are still available today for those who want them. I do not miss all the brass fixtures, vertical blinds for house windows and all the use of peach and sage green colors in wall paint, upholstery fabrics and vinyl wallpaper.
ОтветитьNovelty phones were definitely a thing.
Ответитьyou forgot the heavy metal posters esp motley crue..
ОтветитьWhat nostalgia from my childhood. I remember doilies throughout my house and how much of a pain in the behind they were to clean because they had often ripped. My mom had placed the doilies underneath her plants for extra decor
ОтветитьDorothy's Ruffeled Originals...
ОтветитьI was a 90s kid, but my parents were a little older. We were always behind the trends. I thought my parents had stuff from the 80s. Nope, it was mostly from the 70s! 😅
ОтветитьArtificial eukeliptus leaves in brass containers
Ответить80s was super cool period. People back then was much more approachable and we didn't had mobile phones or social media. I remember I was teenager and we had to give a date somewhere outside in a specific place and time and just wait there.
ОтветитьThe lucite trend was one of my faves. I remember ceiling fans in Polished Brass or Polished Chrome with lucite blades and spotlight kits.
I had the LEGO telephone and later in life I got a Cabbage Patch Kids telephone (from eBay) for My mom’s office because it was cool.
My home was built in 1990 but it had White cabinet with Gray countertops., the bathrooms had the Hollywood globe bulbs bath vanity light fixtures in Polished Brass and the walls were even painted in those Mauve and Mint colors accompanied with Gray and Mauve carpeting.
My friends had pine walls and cork bathroom floor.
ОтветитьWhat an ugly era.
ОтветитьPotpourri in every room! As the decade progressed, it went from fragrant dried flowers to dyed wood chips with artificial fragrance. Finally just a room spray… but they had to call it “Potpourri Fresh.”
Ответитьthose giant curtains seem like a nightmare to clean my little ones get so dusty... I hate cleaning 🤣🤣
ОтветитьThis is my goal/ endgame
I want a house just like this
I still like a number of these things
ОтветитьI like the glass walls
ОтветитьNone of us in the 80s had the decor you speak of! 🤣
ОтветитьAwesome video!!!!!!
ОтветитьI'd totally forgotten about glass bricks.
ОтветитьI dreamed of having a Lips telephone. We couldn’t afford for us kids to have phones in our bedrooms.
ОтветитьI miss the 80s ...was born in 81 and remember all of this but in my household and n my Community we didn't watch MTV...we watched B.E.T ❤❤
ОтветитьI really like the 80s looks still lol u can tell I was a kid and into my teens in the 80s lol i do more modern looks in my home now, but in my mind i still love the 80s lol 😆 😂
ОтветитьI loved being a teenager in the 80's. So chill and relaxed
ОтветитьHair-metal bands ruled the eighties. The eighties were the absolute worst decade ever when it came to cars! My wife and I live in a home that will never have to change with the times and we love it.
An old 2 story with lots of natural woodwork and 95% antique furnishings and design throughout.
notice how the homes had more color back then. not just whte and stale like today
ОтветитьI love the glass blocks. It always reminded me of Miami Vice. In every episode just about, they were there.
ОтветитьDuck designs were everywhere in the late 80's.
ОтветитьThat chintz look never went out of fashion in Britain, especially for women's bedrooms
Ответитьmy house is so 80's style and I never even noticed it! xd
ОтветитьI was in high school in the 80s.I wish I took advantage of that time.Girls had cool clothes and hairstyles.I was so shy.I was too nerdy and studious.I did get into a major university and graduated, but feel like I lost my youth because I was studying all the time.😢
ОтветитьI really miss the 80s
ОтветитьIt makes me feel my age to think that I have now moved further on from my 1980s self than I had moved on in the 1980s from being a child. [born 1958]
ОтветитьBlinds are a nightmare, they should had never been in the market!
ОтветитьMock not my brass unicorn statuette! I loved it deeply. (Wonder where that’s got to? Maybe a box in the attic?)
ОтветитьI am 43 now and thinking back to what "being grown up" meant back in 80's. How we envisioned being older, this age this stage. Did anyone imagine the 2020's ( as crazy as that sounds), would be this BIZARE? Ahh. I truly miss those simpler days and would love to go back and relive them. over and over.
ОтветитьPink or peach tubs, sink and tiles in the bathroom.
ОтветитьThe 80's! Shouder pads galore!
ОтветитьA lot of this is coming back.
ОтветитьThe southwest design was hugh in California, Arizona and beyond
ОтветитьMy childhood home also had a huge entertainment center. Our 32' Sony CRT/VCR/Stereo/Record Player/A-Track/Speakers.
ОтветитьYes!!! My 80s childhood home had floral wallpaper/green carpet/fluorescent kitchen lights/floral bedding/floral curtains/glass tables. 😂😂😂
ОтветитьI was in my 40s in the 80s nothing much in home decor has changed.
ОтветитьMy mom still has her vertical blinds.
ОтветитьI miss it
ОтветитьI like the colorfulness of the decade. The fun shapes, the fun bright, happy colors not only home, but the cars we (or our parents) drove. Everything had a much more optimistic feel. Nowadays everything is gray and white in our houses.
Life was fun during the 80s.
I wish I was born earlier to experience the 80s….I was born in the late 90s
ОтветитьAlso the shallow box with miniatures was a thing we loved. We put our tiny crap on the wall in this display box.
