Fix Stripped Screw Holes - 3 MINUTE FIX!

As some viewers have pointed out, running a much longer screw (3" screw, for example) will often remedy this. It drives deeper into the actual framing rather than just the door casing.

I ended up using a left over wooden dowl from putting together furniture to fill the screw hole. It fit tight so hammered it in with no glue and drove in the screw. Worked well

I did this in wood cabinets and it worked great! The closer at top of storm door completely pulled out of door - all three screws. It is a metal frame. Would this work also for metal?

You should cut away the thin tips before you cut to length. That way you get full width of the toothpick all the way into the hole.

Will this fix work for a metal door frame, or only if the door frame is wood?

What if the hole is in a cement wall? Can I follow the same advice?

Why not just inject wood putty into the whole then drill a small pilot to rescrew?

I’d think you should screw in the screw before the glue dries. Seem to me doing it after the glue dries you might be breaking the glue bond.

I usually cut a shim or toothpicks and pound it in with some wood glue and it’s always worked . See you know already , haha . Good man 👍👊

Awesome video. Will this also work on a aluminum hole with toothoicks and wood gkue even thoughits glue made for wood? ....its for the bottom cover on a wcreen door. The little metal sheet that coveres the bottom from letting air our.
