As a close cousin to the Hammer, I've been trying to learn it for ages... Unsuccessfully. I think it just clicked for me, thanks to your video!

mmm.. some very important moves are missing. The biggest ones are Counterattack Water Strike and Silk move Dash Breaker to avoid damage. The Spin move is not so good, it better switch to a powerful two-hit combo Impact Crater. And of course you completly skip a different playstyle name is Courage Hammer, but it's only appears in Sunbreak

Has the ZL + X been nerfed? All I get is a quick pull towards the enemy with one over head swing, never going vertical and spinning like in this video

I'm a MH veteran but haven't kept up with the newer games too much. Coming from games where all we did was press Triangle over and over to these newer ones has been a bit daunting, especially when the on-screen button prompts in the game aren't the easiest to read. Thank you for making videos like this! :D

This is exactly what I say every time I get a solid bonk.
I love the Hammer for its high damage and mobility. I use it almost exclusively. Simple, effective, and most importantly, bonk.

I keep disengage charging by accident. I mained hammer back in MHW but for some reason charging my hammer is kinda annoying now

Well done, very concise guide. Perfect video for someone like me who just wants to enjoy playing the weapon first before being 'meta' with it.

I think we forget that you don't have to have mastery over a weapon to enjoy playing it. All good things take time.

The idea of bonking monsters on the head so hard that they see stars is what made me fall in love with the weapon ever since MHF2. It's probably the weapon category that has changed the least since the old games, still feels as satisfying to bonk monsters as it ever did

Unrelated to the actual content of this guide, but I like your fashion loadout.

these are the best weapon series. theres only one other one thats like 50 min per weapon thats super detailed but this covers almost everything in those so fast.

Kinda missing the switch skills, water strike instead of side bonk and lunge bonk that keeps the current charge instead of aerial bonk, oh and btw, when you KO the monster you have enough time to do big bang all the way and then a charge cancel to yellow charge into impact crater lvl 3, that's the biggest damage combo out of a raw KO, with 3 wirebugs you can do impact crater, strong charge bonk and impact crater again, does a lot of damage, more effective with wirebug whisperer 3, for any monstrr I'd recommend water strike since it's a free roar punish followed by a golf swing every roar for some sweet damage
And there is also the switch skill charge: courage instead of strength, it changes your blue hammer into a blue hammer with different mechanics, it makes it so your charge attack and combo into another charge attack, and so on, as for current rise this style pales in comparison to strength charge, however, that is bound to change with the sunbreak expansion
