Hi Everyone, Which one of these fixes works best for you?
ОтветитьAwesome video. I've always felt uncomfortable on the take away. Had no clue exactly what a good take away was supposed to feel like. I know all the swing thoughts like one piece takeaway but still felt clueless. This really helped instantly!
ОтветитьOne further comment, I'm trolling back to this video once more. That alignment stick drill probably has the greatest feedback of any takeaway drill. NO GUESSWORK!! IF THE STICK STAYS CONNECTED DURING THE TAKEAWAY YOURE IN THE RIGHT SPOT. Infallible!! Great drills. Great content.
ОтветитьPush down pull up , also like turning frisbee..thanks
ОтветитьI’ve been watching countless videos for the take away… this by far helped me the most. Thank you so much
ОтветитьThanks. Good advice
ОтветитьThis is such a helpful tip and drill! Great teaching as always, great job!
ОтветитьThis is the best primer I’ve seen on analyzing or fixing a poor takeaway. Great tips which I’m going to incorporate. I’m currently struggling with consistently striking the low point with my irons. Do you have a video on this? Thanks.
ОтветитьAwesome tips for fixing the most common issues golfers don't realise but face 👍
ОтветитьI’ve been trying for three years to fix my take away. These two drills are the best. It’s exactly what I’ve been struggling with although I’ve managed to get the club on plane on the way down I’m losing power and don’t have consistency that I need to score. Thanks so much for these wonderful drills. Keep up the good work I’ll be watching. Thanks.
ОтветитьExcuse me, while I gush about the quality of your instruction for the umpteenth time!! Based on other comments , it is proven in their own performance as well. The pressure of the lead hand towards the right toe in a downward push is an incredible thought!! In a Newtonian twist, it is an equal and opposite reaction. But then golf is a game of opposites isn't it? Again you're explaining precisely why one single move creates another with no conscious thought of the latter at all. UNBELIEVABLE. One step at a time the Dominoes all fall in line. Number one instructor I've ever seen.
ОтветитьVery very impressive.
Thankyou...
Thanks! I will put this in practice so let you know the outcome
ОтветитьThe fore finger down the shaft is a gem Giles , great checkpoint , thanks
ОтветитьGreat video Giles, hopefully when trying this tomorrow, it will help with my poor backswing. 🤞🤞
Ответить5.20 this is pure GOLD !!! What gold, this is diamond !!! wow. Of the hundreds and hundreds of golf videos, this is a MUST definetly top 5. Thanks for the help.
ОтветитьSome excellent drills here! Will be using these over the winter practice season.
ОтветитьThis is excellent 😊
ОтветитьExcellent stuff. I've had a period of trying too hard to keep my trail elbow tucked in and it killed me. Your tip about keeping trail arm above lead arm + keeping club head out in front helps me into a far better swing plane... 👍
ОтветитьSteering wheel and Stick drill...money. Showed these to my wife who is learning, and I could see the instant understanding of keeping the club out in front of her. Well done..
ОтветитьSo when you push down with your palm, how do you now cup your wrist with your left hand?
ОтветитьHello Giles. Brilliant imagery (water) and feels (frisbee). Thank you sir.
Ответитьgreat video, the finger point work much easy for me.
ОтветитьThis is the best back swing video I've ever seen great job. Thanks
ОтветитьThanks. This works for me: Pushing down and feeling like the back of the left hand rotates toward the ground. This video has helped me hit my short irons longer and with more accuracy; what could I be doing differently with my driver? It feels as if my arms are too upright with the driver.
ОтветитьHi Giles, exactly what I was looking for. What I am missing though is the transition into the downswing. This new take away (lifetime roller of the arms) makes me feel really rigid with tension. I feel like I am losing a lot of mph swing speed, which for me is around 111mph. Any tips? Thanks!🙏
Ответитьtry keeping rear forearm higher than front in take away and was 7 under my handicap
Ответить🙏🙏🙏
ОтветитьThank you for the fantastic drill. When I'm playing badly I suck the club to the inside like you said. Thanks again from the state of Vermont.
ОтветитьThis add takes more than 40 minutes the cost $49 American
ОтветитьAwesome!
ОтветитьThis is the absolute best instructional video I’ve seen! I’ve turning the steering wheel to the right my whole life (which I didn’t know was the wrong way). I’m excited to start turning to the left! Thank you!!!
ОтветитьBest takeaway video I’ve seen to date, followed 🤙🏻
ОтветитьThanks, Giles , you have quality video lesson. Like it a lot. I am in Canada, Gallaghers Canyon golf course. Kelowna. I will recommend to friends your golf channel. Thanks again.
ОтветитьI think if you use a "saucer" instead of a plate....the forearms would look more like a golf swing because... what throws people off is the width of the plate doesn't match up to how the arms should look "symmetrically" in a normal takeaway
ОтветитьMy coach did a similar thing right arm on top but imagine a wall just out side the ball running towards the target. Keep the club edge running up the wall in back swing.
Shot 1 over last outing. Great feeling for me
I have lowered my handicap from a 10.0 to a 6.1 in five rounds since watching your videos, thank you so much for your content and keep it coming!!!
Ответитьsound clear advice, very good
Ответитьi think i am breaking my wrist way too late ... going to test it out at the range next time .... i really hope that is the issue, my golf shots are about as consistent as a woman's mood
ОтветитьHello @Gilesgillgolf, Can you show me how to do the rest of the backswing? I have the "turn the wheel left" thing down, but I don't know what to do next. Cheers from Washington DC in the USA.
ОтветитьSaved to my favourites ❤
ОтветитьWhen I push down on butt of club with lead hand it puts my lead wrist into extension and opens the face…..what am I doing wrong
ОтветитьGreat teaching
ОтветитьDoes that work for the driver seems steep.. every one does the take away could you give details from half way to top is it just a turn or a folding of rt elbow to top of swing. Thx great video..
ОтветитьI’ve been struggling for so long with a big inside takeaway. Lessons and hours at the range haven’t fixed it.
But.. ‘getting the club head out of the water first’ has been a game changer! Just had my best round for yonks using it as my only swing thought. Cheers Giles!
Keeping my right forearm above my left through P2. Thinking about the RT forearm was the key for me. I had instructors that thought me to keep my right slightly bent and below the left at the address(I overdid it). I didn't release that it was also causing me to immediately bring the club inside too early.
ОтветитьI use a magnetic stick on the club face to keep the stick pointing to the ground and not up in the sky.
ОтветитьThanks for the "Feel" thought of the forearm above the other on takeaway. Had a case of the shanks and I think it was related to my takeaway. Will see at the range soon.
ОтветитьI always thought that when the shaft is parallel to the ground , you also want the shaft parallel to the invisible target line.
Ответитьvery clear thanks!👍
