Já lí algo sobre esse tipo de emenda e até onde entendí ela além de não ser recomendada é considerada perigosa pois gera uma resistência em função da forma como está sendo torcida (com uma torção central e um enrolamento voltando em espiral, que é o grande problema) que, dependendo da corrente e da tensão, pode levar a incêndios.
O ideal seria mesmo usar ou terminais com conectores próprios , ou emendas parafusadas ou simplesmente unir os 2 fios retos literalmente "encaixados" e entrelaçados ,seguido de solda.
O vídeo mostra uma junção mecanicamente resistente, mas o problema é que ela não é uma boa emenda ELÉTRICAMENTE FALANDO. Se a resistência mecânica for fundamental, é preciso usar um método externo ao fio em sí.

I’m glad I watched that not 2 but 3 times - I was imagining you wrapped each wire around the other & headed it back into itself(which is last-able but has questionable 1 dot of contact).. but finally I see U actually just swirled the 2 wires together.
