Controller Showdown! - Elite Series 2 vs. SCUF Instinct Pro

The Elite II controllers are GARBAGE!. I had 2 fail on me!, and I baby my gear!. They are a waste of money!!. Microsoft has had soo many failures that they have stopped honoring warranty on them!. DO NOT BUY MICROSOFT!... I have 2 elite boat anchors now, and hardly even used them much!.

For the elite 2 im not sure if aim are stable enough for playing or can be easly removable especialy for someone who hold the controler in agressiv manner like me

Elite series controller best controller you'll ever own... For about 4 months until it starts failing mechanically

Something that's driven me mad especially when it came to the Dualshock 3 was how sticks would wear and loosen. It feels HORRIBLE, like when someone has a really weak noodley handshake.
The Elite's option to customise stick tension was an instant sale for me.

You completely missed one terrible feature on the elite. Every right thumbstick has a small threshold that doesn’t register at all. I’ve had 4 elite series controllers they are not built well at all. But the lack of response on the right thumbstick is the worst….

I bought my 3rd elite controller and after using in new for 40 minutes I realized im done with these controllers. The bumpers suck the triggers Arnt clicks but a weird smush click type of feeling, and the bottom paddle doesn’t feel responsive it doesn’t feel like a 1ms response even though I have the controller overclocked, and it sometimes doesn’t respond on the first click. I’m taking the controller back to best buy and getting the scuff instinct even though it’s $100 more I think u get what u pay for here.

If they could make an elite controller that lasts longer than 6 months to a year it might be worth the money. I have 60 dollar controllers that lasted 3 times longer than either of the elites I bought.

One Question, if I have a warranty and need to use it. Does the new controller come with a renewed warranty? Or does the previous warranty remain? Or does the warranty get void after one use? Thanks

If you live in the UK, buy the controller you like from Curry’s and take the ‘hassle free repair or replacement warranty’ and they will swap it for a brand new one any time your controller breaks again. I bought the series 2 controller over 2 years ago and have had 8 replaced in that time! That’s 1 every 3 months on average. Same problems every time. Bumper double clicks when I press once and/or stick drift. Usually the bumber goes first. It drives me crazy and really, it’s not worth the price without that kind of warranty added (it’s £23 for 5 years free replacements btw!)

SCUF price comparing to Elite 2 is a joke. You get nothing in the box, controller is just a regukar xbox controller witch 4 padłeś that doesnt work (ergonomic is awful), and it is not even that accurate. From a value perspective E2 is 3x better. By the way Scuf didnt even give you a battery in the box, when bouild in battery in Elite 2 last for about 2 weeks in my case xd

What player pack did you get

Definitely a big advantage using a controller like that in games like mw2 what with the strong aim assist, but mouse is still more fun to use imo, something more "visceral" about it.

I really wanted the elite series two. With the numerous quality control issues, I settled with the 8bitdo ultimate. It has been very good.

11 months and my scuff is starting to sticky on my b button. Any way to fix at home?

Brought nee elite core on 6th August 2023 but warranty says it ends 5th June 2024 can’t work out why that’s not great.

The back pedals on the Instinct are part of the rear case and are a common failure point for scuf controllers. They won't sell you a replacement part. On the upside you can add clicky buttons to the instinct controller, those are not out for the elite controllers.

The reason I might choose scuf cuz it look Cooler then the elite but elite better elite just need to add the thing at them bottom that the scuf have😅

I don't see the point of a middle trigger stop. Hair trigger and full press are all that's required.

Elite is crap. It slips out of your hands. There's no place to put your fingers in the back because the paddles are huge. The rubber grip seems to be coated in mold release that won't wash off.

I’ve gone through 4 elite series 2 they break very easy, the last 2 I treated the very well never dropped and always back on charger after done and im not a hard core gamer I’ll never buy series xbox anything (yes they work good but cheaply made) don’t buy ! And I read some of the comments just to see if it was just me and it seems to story of my life lol

Wrong i have both, xbox elite is less reliable, less resistant, less precise sticks, likely to have a lot of stick drift. Worse triggers, rubbers get slippery after an hours of gameplay, conclusion. You are not grading the controllers from the perspective of an actual competitive player

I have no experience with the elite 2, I literally just bought one today but I haven't used it yet. That said, I bought my elite 1 five years ago, and it's been treating me well ever since I bought it. The one thing I really like about the Scuff are those rear paddles. They're so much harder to accidentally press than the elite 2. I tend to iron grip my controller, so the Elite is just way too hard to not accidentally click.

I literally just bought an Elite Series 2 base pack, but learning the full kit only comes with one tall stick is just confusing. I've been using double tall controllers for years, it's my hard preference. I have no idea why Microsoft would drop one tall stick in favor of a tall and a short stupid stick.

At first, I was gonna buy the suff but then I saw that the elite has a trigger adjustable things and for that price is way better

I have probably 800 hours on my Elite 2 and the grips have stretched out and are at the point that the controller is uncomfortable to hold, my right bumper double taps frequently for whatever reason, and stick drift is getting bad, even on the highest tension setting. I ordered an Instinct Pro to replace it so we’ll see how it goes. If I don’t like that I guess I’ll buy another Elite 2. I just can’t use a controller without paddles anymore.

No doubt in my mind personally I think the Elite 2 is 10 times better because my favorite controller of all time as Xbox 360 controller it is the closest thing you're going to get to a modern Xbox 360 controller since you can change the stick tension basically the Xbox 360s and they give you basically Xbox 360 thumbsticks which I really like and the controllers cheaper it comes with more stuff is it a hundred percent more value for the price plus with the elite to you can change the light color and my favorite color is purple so I'm going to immediately change it to that once mine actually gets in it comes tomorrow and I'm super fucking excited cuz I felt it before

I've had 2 elite series 2 controllers and both had RB issues. The button stops working after less than a year of use. I'm going to have to Google if I can repair myself as they are both out of warranty now.
