I know this is an old video, but how different would this be if using two 9v batteries as the power source?
ОтветитьDoes a Tesla coil ever stop working other than when you shut it off?
ОтветитьHow did you get AC voltage with a battery? Is there an inverter circuit in there or something?
ОтветитьI'm curious if it's feasible the Inverse of this such Tesla Coil?
Something that ATTRACTS electricity, instead of "repelling it outwards" if you catch my meaning. 🙏
Couldn't find a bug zapper here so am getting a high voltage transformer from 3.6V to 20kV , i know the capacity bank should change to be bigger than the output what else should i change?
ОтветитьCan i use 36gauge wire
ОтветитьWhat wire is used for the primary thanks
ОтветитьJust built it ... Works Great! So surprised how straight forward it was. Good job on describing the assembly. Only things missing in the video: 1) Hardware size (english or metric); 2) Winding direction (or does it not matter?).
ОтветитьCould this Tesla coil be used to power a plasma globe?
ОтветитьWay cool! Shocking!
ОтветитьGreat video, thank you!! What's up with the fisticuffs? Are you a member of the local Fight Club? ;D
Ответитьcould you please make handheld tesla coil
Ответитьhello, what is the current draw from the battery supply? 🪫 thanks
ОтветитьMy spark gap kinda works not as big as urs, but no bolts from top? Maybe my secondary coil isn’t made from thick enough guage?
Ответитьyour volume sucks, three devices and I can barely hear it
pisses me off, volume levels should not change
Are you inserting 3 DC volt? Doesn't it need an AC input?
ОтветитьDoes this create a bright enough spark to be able to see in normal room light, or do we have to dim the lights to see the spark?
ОтветитьHe’s not talking about the output, he’s talking about the power supply voltage
ОтветитьI got mine working! This is awesome keep up this content!!
ОтветитьI just have to say...THANKS FOR SHOWING A SCHEMA.!!!
One thing I learned over and over......when wrapping electrical tape, ALWAYS pull some off the roll "it will be stretched", Let it shrink back for a few seconds, then continue all windings similarly. If you don't do this, in an amount of months, you will find a messy "UN-stretching/winding" effect.
GREAT VIDEO!! AGAIN
I have that racket laying around. And a 3 volt g shock. lol. woo
Ответитьcan somone explain why its important to use a fly swater board is it because it pulses?
ОтветитьPretty Cool, but what if you wanna make a monster, but on a budget??
ОтветитьI added these comments in the "Tesla Lighter" video and wanted to also share them here:
**The HV cap 667-ECW-HC3F392JD can ship immediately but with cut leads which you can still use. The one called out, without the "D" suffex is out of stock.
For the HV PS - I used the Harbor Freight Bug Zapper and it's TO92 transistor - D965 good for 5 Amp collector current, at 3 volts input, the output was 5.8 KV, using a 4.5 volt input the output was 7.4 KV.... The swatter HV PS only draws ~ .6 amps for either 3 or 4.5 volt input.... Outputs will vary with each swatter, so it is good idea to build/use a HV probe....
I ordered/ used 580-MHR0424SA108F70 - 10KV rated 1000M ohm, (1 Gig ohm 1.4 W) resistors and these work nicely for a high voltage probe. Use 5 in series for a 500 to 1 probe, (500 to 1), (or use 10 for a 100 to 1 probe at a 100KV rating.... ****Important - These ratios are with using a "better" DVM with a typical 10 Meg ohm input resistance....**
**AND, the very hard to find TO92 heat sinks are listed at Mouser - 532-575200B00 $1.05 each.... This will help the D965 transistor dissipate the heat much better than without using one and will let you use a 4.5 volt input power a bit more safely without overheating.... Make sure to still use a GOOD thermal grease....
These general notes may help with others in building their own mini Tesla Coils.... Mine is cranking out solid 1 inch "bolts" and when the TO92 heat-sinks arrive I will operate with extended run times to test.... I'm having a blast.. BE SAFE.... USE ONE HAND ONLY around HV....
You should do a video on tuning forks connected to boxes and show resonance. Then show how to do the same thing with tesla coils connected to the boxes. That would be cool.
ОтветитьThanks for the Post. I have a question about the Capacitors. Can you use 2KV .0039uF instead of 3KV .0039uF?
Thanks!
Quick question where do you buy these capacitors?
ОтветитьSo, why does this not shock you?
Ответитьcan i use 9v battery
ОтветитьQuestion please.... Does the wrapping of the foil around the top plate provide enough of a counterpoise for good operation? I am going to use a 1/4 inch conductive backing COPPER tape for the edges and thought about if adding additional strips on top would provide a better "ground".... WHAT IF --- I was to use 4 inch wide copper tape and completely cover the top and edges. Your opinion please if this would be beneficial or maybe just overkill... Thank you in advance for sharing your expertise.... Hank
ОтветитьA good tip for anyone using Acrylic/Plexiglass for projects like this one. After cutting/sawing to your desired shape, knock off any loose edges and very quickly, heat the cut edges straight on with a propane torch flame with a fast side to side motion - traveling lengthwise on the edge. The flame needs to be close - ~ 1 inch or so and you will be amazed how the once rough edges are melted clear and smooth. I suggest practicing on a cut scrap piece first and once you get the hang of it, you will be happy with the results.... P.S. Just finished winding the secondary coil and the rest of my parts will be ready within a few days....
ОтветитьCan i use a high Voltage transformer with 400KV instead of the racket
ОтветитьI built one. Woohoo
ОтветитьI've heard that the spark gap can create uv radiation, is that true?
Or does it only happen with large tesla coils?
Thanks!
how many winding is there on the secondary ? And i used very thin wire(0.01 mm wire) will that work? and last but not least will the capacitor bank be in parallel to spark gap or in series? Pls reply to this poor idiot..........
ОтветитьPull out 6 inches.....that's what the comment readers mom said to me last night 😲
ОтветитьWhat about tuning?
ОтветитьI need help when one side of my primary is disconnected my sparkgap will arc. when i connect my primary coil back it no longer arcs arcross my spark gap
ОтветитьCan you please tell me a alternative for the capacitors because the capacitors you used is not available in my country.
ОтветитьI have this old earbud case and I’m trying to see if I can make this mini coil usb rechargeable
ОтветитьMan you work so neat and clean. Mine projects always end up messy.
ОтветитьThanks, I once ordered one of these from aliexpress, soldered everything right but it didn't work. Probably some cheap part that is off. I'll recover the coil and use your method here.
ОтветитьCould you use a 15 kv transformer instead of the bug zapper?
ОтветитьSilly guy. watch the video, your bug zapper capacitors are removed before adding to the base. The 3 capacitor bank replaces them.
Ответитьkann dies funktionieren ?
ОтветитьGreat video but please do NOT make holes in the PVC pipe to hold the wire, use HOT GLUE instead and keep the wires outside. I have destroyed several of my coils like this. Charge will build up on the surface of the coil's inside walls and small arcs will start to chew through the pvc creating carbon channels which will eventually destroy the coil.
ОтветитьHi please tell the all products please sir
ОтветитьHi, first of all I wanted to say your video is great. I have problem I don't live in the USA and I can't find the capacitors you used for the Tesla coil you built in this video, I hope if could help with this problem, thank you so much!
Ответитьcan someone help me? my bug zapper circuit has two capacitors...can i just get away with only changing the bigger one? do i need to change the second (smaller cap) ? will it affect the life of my coil?? btw should the spark gap come after the capacitor bank or before like in the circuit diagram? (ye this is my first tesla coil/high volt build)
Ответить
