10 OCT 2022 CORRECTION: Jerry bought Dime his first guitar before he won the Dean guitar. Some people are saying it was a Les Paul replica but I can't find information on this. And a quick FYI, you can learn to play a guitar before owning one, I'm not sure why that is a shock to some people, especially considering how many guitars Jerry would have had lying around the house and the studio.
12 OCT 2022 UPDATE: I went back and read the relevant sections of Black Tooth Grin and it says, quote, "Jerry bought Darrell a Les Paul copy and a Pignose amp for his birthday". A Les Paul copy was Dimes first guitar, not the Dean Guitar he won at the age of 14.
If you spot any other inaccuracies then let me know here!
I myself a massive motorhead nut.... MHB 4162.....miss him dearly he and The band are what brought me out to the person I am today.. No fcuks taken and no fcuks to give...... They will always be my number one.... Motörhead forever, forever Motörhead
ОтветитьThe universe sometimes gives us something by random, chaotic chance.
Pantera.
They found each other.
They destroyed everything in their way.
They dominated the world.
They disappeared.
And to this day...2023...they are STILL the greatest metal band to ever exist.
There will NEVER be another Pantera.
the stars didn't just aligned perfectly but continued to do so for their entire career
ОтветитьBefore the fame, before the hype i remember the needle dropping on CFH and being an immediate fan. Good times.
ОтветитьThis was awesome. But can you do it again, this time with an American voice over instead? More on brand and what not. Thanks in advance!
ОтветитьBest show i ever saw was pantera w/ sepultura and prong at portland meadows in portland oregon in 93'-94' for the far beyond driven tour and chaos a.d. sonically devistating....
ОтветитьHis les paul copy guitar is very well documented, theres pictures of dime dressed as "ace frehley" of "kiss" for halloween with it.
ОтветитьHis first (electric) guitar was a "les paul" copy by "memphis" or maybe "Hondo". Not a dean...which he had for years before winning the dean. Getcha pull!🤘
ОтветитьFko anselmo you destroyed pantera
ОтветитьRIP Vinnie & Dimebag. 😢 My cousin auditioned for Pantera the same time as Phil. Phil was 1st choice & my cousin 2nd. Phil decided not to go with Pantera so my cousin was chosen UNTIL...Phil had a change of heart which bumped my cousin out. I'm almost glad. I love my cousin & I'm not sure he would have survived the drinking & drugs. My cousin was much better looking than Phil, BTW. Phil did Pantera dirty! If anyone should have taken that 🔫, it would be Phil. That being said, nobody should have died. Neil Young said it in Rust Never Sleeps, basically...it's better to die young than to fade away. Vinnie & Dimebag will go on forever as Texas Cowboys From Hell! God bless Texas & God bless Vinnie & Dimebag. RIP😢
All that being said, I love the spice Phil brought to Pantera. I can also relate to Phil with the back problems. I OD'd on oxycontin given to me by a doctor feel good that only encouraged me to take more. Phil's life depended on him slowing down a bit. However, he could have been a little more open with his Pantera band mates. Im sure it never occured to Phil the impact of him leaving Pantera would have on the Abbot brothers, the triggered crazy guy, the fan doing CPR & all those that witnessed the brutality. How could anyone have expected that?
Them first 3 albums was still badass
ОтветитьI always heard vinnie started playing guitar and dime on drums then they switched at some point
ОтветитьBest band that ever graced the stage
ОтветитьOne off my favorites band, R.I:P Dimbag And Vinnie🤘😎🔥❤️🇧🇻
ОтветитьI remember one day driving home from work at 18 years old first time listening to Pantera - Cowboys From Hell on Z-ROCK back in 1990. Never heard of them before but I was blown away by it. Those riffs man were killer. Phil's voice was badass. Definitely why i picked up a guitar back then and still playing today.
ОтветитьPantera changed my life! There’s a reason they’re my #1 favorite band of all time. Vinnie was a huge influence on me to pick up the sticks. RIP to the Abbott brothers🙏🏻
ОтветитьGreat doco , I never knew the full story without judgement ,Thanks
Ответить✌️😎🔥🔥🔥
ОтветитьThats fucking mindblowing, how somebody can just take a peace of metal, filled with a little round and end such a legend😢...
Rest in Peace Dime
Rest in peace dimebag and vinnie🤘🤘
ОтветитьLove Pantera
ОтветитьThat being said i think that he loves dime vince and rex to this day.
ОтветитьThey are my favorite band had saying that I'm glad they talked positive about Phil for a sec I think he did alot of stuff he didn't mean to do and couldn't make the last records with them cause he was on dope and it would ve been fake it had to be with other bands he could get away with that shit
ОтветитьOne of the best
ОтветитьI hung out at the Basement and when they played it was insane, fun and as a 20 something lady I learned a lot about how much fun it was to be in the right place at the right time!
ОтветитьThe Pantera Story. The singer got a big ego, formed his own band, became a racist, causing the rest of the members to end it. From stadiums to playing Club dives w no security. A Nutbar takes advantage and kills the Guitarist. Simple fame chewed them up and spit them out. End of Story.
ОтветитьHmm hate group frfr❤ stopped listening to them.
ОтветитьThis documentary could be 3 hours long and still not be long enough to tell the complete story.
ОтветитьI feel so lucky and fortunate to have gotten to see dime and vinnie play b4 dimes death. I got to see them play in.2004 with damageplan and I'll never forget it
ОтветитьRIP Dime
RIP Vinni
Both of you are and will always be major influences in my playing. I still can’t believe you’re both gone, and gone way too soon. Love you both.
I cried may dimebag and Vinnie rest in peace 🕊️
ОтветитьI was there that sad sad nite. The club has since been torn down. I still drive by it often. Sigh.
Ответитьmonsters of rock had more like 1.6 million people not 500,000 lol
Ответитьfirst time got to hear them by album was when a new friend had vulgar display of power.was new back then.we listened to all sorts of shit.exhoarder slayer.the good stuff.Never got to see Pantera live....though thought about seen the tribute band.though wont be the same.still got other issues going on of uncertianty.hope i can get to see the tribute band.til then well see.
ОтветитьI fucking hate phill, but love Pantera!
ОтветитьPhil didn’t just OD at any show in Texas it the Dallas Texas show. My tribe and I were there. We saw White Zombie perform in for the last time in Dallas that night. We all had a pack of joints in Marlboro boxes. We shared our herb with everyone around us. By the end of the show nobody would smoke with us because we had gotten everyone stoned af. There’s no PanterA experience quite like your first time to see them live. I saw them a total of 8 times. The last time being with Static X and the mighty mighty Slayer. This would be right before Paul Bostaph left Slayer. God Hates Us All hadn’t been released yet so we got hear them play Disciple and possibly Here Comes The Pain.
ОтветитьWhats that version of cemetery gates in the beginning?
ОтветитьRip Dimebag Darrel n vini paul
ОтветитьIt should be a law that anyone who speaks with an English accent not only Not inaccurately do Narrations for US music bands but get the facts about the bands their poorly inaccurately doing the Narration correct....yeah I said it and stand behind it. Especially PANFUCKINGTERA DICK
ОтветитьThis video told me so much about Pantera i didn't know about.
ОтветитьI think one of the major things that gets overlooked about Pantera is home video 2 I know they were already giants when it came out having released vulgar but I think home video is what really drove them to break onto house hold names when home video came out no other bands did anything like it we would put it on the vhs blast it though the stereo having parties and everyone would just go crazy watching that to thos day home video 2 is one of the greatest rock videos ever made everyone copied it
ОтветитьI’d like to see a timeline where dime and Vinny joined megadeth, it may have saved both of their lives. But still, pantera is something so brilliant and the world wouldn’t be the same without pantera and Vinny and dime. RIP the Abbott brothers
ОтветитьMy favorite band noting will ever change that slipknot self titled came close but unlike the other million fans I thought Ohio was hugely disappointing I respected the fact they brought blast beats to mainstream metal just compared to self titled it just didn't do the trick and Pantera remained much favorite band considering I was never disappointed with any album by the band
ОтветитьPhil killed the band, crazy how he is filling his pockets with the band very name. Way far from the real one.
R.i.p Dime & Vinnie
Sorry chuck berry did rock first
ОтветитьDamn...this narrator sounds like Dana Carvey doing an impersonation of Robin Leach. Brutal.
Ответить
