How The Suite Life Movie RUINED Zack and Cody

The suite life zack and cody was part of my childhood as for the movie I hated it I actually felt betrayed after watching the suite life movie it was so bad that it made don't want to watch an episode of the suite life zack and cody ever again

watching the last episode of suite life on deck was absolutely a canon event of my childhood… i still remember tearing up watching it. I was born in 2000, my whole childhood they were on my tv, i couldnt fathom never seeing it again

Wait, Zac was trying to hit on a girl working im the lab, so that means shes maybe 22yrs old and zach is in high school

i think suite life movie was ok it wasn't that bad to me sure i do agree that i also think it's not perfect they try the best they could it's not as bad as everyone made it out to me in my honest opinion

Hmm… I believe the movie was timelined between s2 and 3 of “On deck”. Which is also weird considering Cody and Bailey’s break up at the end of s2, but still it would’ve explain why Maya wasn’t in the movie and why Zack acts as if he’s single.
The car part is really strange, yeah.

Remember the sus Tipton in the movie is different from the ss Tipton in the show because the old ss Tipton got scrapped and this new ss tiptop has the design of an old carnival ship with the sky deck added on to it

Quite frankly, I stopped watching Suite Life franchise after the first season of Suite Life on Deck. I didn’t like it as much as the original show. This movie sounds not that good. It sucks because I really liked the original show.

Not sure if its just me or not, but the whole twin plot of the movie has me surprised that Jessica & Janice never appeared or was mentioned in the movie, I remember they had a reappearance in The Suite Life on Deck along with Zack & Cody's ginger haired friend (forgot his name, think it might of been Bob).

i watched it a long time ago and then i blocked it out of mind until i saw this video.

they deserved a proper ending and the sprouse twins idea of said ending sounded so cool, i'm genuinely upset it didn't happen. i am glad they got to spend their time being relatively normal college kids instead though.

If there's one thing this movie did right, it was recognizing Matthew Timmons (aka Woody) as a main character instead of a supporting character. I say this because he had been apart of Suite Life On Deck since day one and way never introduced in the intro but rather the end of every episode. For some reason that always upset me, especially when Doc Shaw was added to the intro for the final season.

After watching the Wizards of Waverly Pod it makes sense that the story and characters dont match the show. David DeLuise (Jerry Russo) said that there are different teams for the Disney Channel and for the DCOMs.

The way suite life could have had another spin off but they didn’t want to work with Dylan and cole anymore, but bunkd was the same idea of a show they wanted to create

As someone who recently watched the whole Zack and Cody franchise (reliving childhood comfort moment).

I didn’t enjoy the film - to me none of it made sense, like the story came out of no-where. Especially as we know Cody didn’t get into Yale, so the fact the film came after the series ended why even mention Yale.

I think if they had done a very loose episode on suite life on deck about spring break the film may have made more sense. As it would be more like a follow up of what actually happened on spring break and I may have enjoyed it.

As for Bailey - they completely changed her character. Bailey isn’t and would never be other of those “I’m gonna delete you” type of girls. Like sure she would have maybe in like the first 10 minutes but then would really support Cody.

Though one thing I did like was Zack when he opened up to Cody on why he wanted the car, and laughed when the car got destroyed as that’s typcial Zack! 🤣

Honestly, I used to like this movie. I do recognize it does have some flaws that do ruin it though. I think if they were going to go the route of having this supernatural twin situation then they needed to go all in. Have Cody get mad at Zack, but this time Zack acknowledges he screwed up big and Cody is unwilling to forgive him. Zack then gets the internship as a way to fix things up with his brother. However, the two are still tense and it does build up to the relationship strained to the breaking point. The experiment then could be his way of trying to make amends. In the process, it's less Zack being dumb about eating the fruit and more so him wanting to be more likely Cody and to repair their relationship. The new bond could also be seen by the twins as extremely positive as it's the first time they're forming such a strong healthy bond and they don't quite want to break it (at least till they find about the permanent merge). I'm not saying it'd be the greatest film ever, but it would at least would it focus entirely on the relationship as opposed to only half-and-half. I'd probably also make it so the rest of the cast realize (through London by accident) that the internship is a trap especially when the strict no-cellphone policy is revealed. They could then have hilarious hijinks trying to find the twins and rescue them. The ending could at least also be better with Zack reconciling with Cody and Cody giving him the strength and confidence to move forward on his own two feet (going off the theme you suggested about Zack trying to find himself). I dunno it'd at least be a more character driven plot then a weirdly paced one.

When I first saw this movie I didn't even realize that it was weird. I didn't connect it to the show I just watched it without the shows events. By itself I thought it was good, but it is sad that they didn't give much thought to the show or the long term effects of the movie.

I remember loving the suite life on deck movie when it came out but I watched it again recently and it was so bad, how did I like it at the time :/ I like all the other Disney channel show DCOMs too, that one just fell flat

Super late to this video but one interesting thing to add: you mentioned a few times how it’s like the writers has never seen the show and I think that was common for Disney at the time cuz on the wizards of waverly place pod they’ve talked about how the original script for the wizards movie was completely wrong and made almost no sense for a lot of the characters because, according to them, the DCOM writers were completely separate and the creator of wizards had to go in and rewrite a bunch of the script to make it make sense.

The movie has fun concepts, but the tone and sci-fi elements are out of step with the series

it makes a lot more sense after learning the director also directed the entire Baby Geniuses franchise

I feel like the movie plot would have been good without the Suite Life characters, and the character would have been good with just about any other plot. Like I would legit enjoy this movie if it wasn't a Suite Life movie.
