So... I'm glad I watched this video because I, as embarrassing as it is to say, did not know you could choose and activate the modifiers for each skill until know. This is after 80 hours. Play tutorials and save yourself the headache.

While I respect anyone who has brutalized themself by playing the vanilla game over and over, I cannot really understand their choices. A couple of times did it for me, after which, it became clear that it was mods or nothing.

There's been a couple of times now, where I have caught this poster being... shall we say... less than entirely correct. For example, for YEARS now, you've been able to spring prisoners from castles. The ability to enter a castle depends on a number of things. First, your relationship with that faction (that includes criminal rating). Next, your relationship with that particular lord. If you've been raiding his vilages/caravans, you aren't getting in. If you are pure and innocent in appearances) simply ride up and request entry. Go in, locate the prison guard, and go through the conversation threads. Drop some money, and you're inside. Castles are much smaller than towns, so the complicating factor happens when you emerge and head for the gate. There may be many guards close to the prison, which can complicate matters.

i used to use the night runner, but then i found nighttime is much shorter than daytime and night speed is slower. can that 5% wins 2% for a full day?

Can kingdoms declare war on you as an individual clan when you get fiefs?
I was merc, then left so i could go capture a couple revel cities, but my clan level is still too low to create a kingsom. Can people declare war on me because i have fiefs or am i safe from wars because im not a kingdom?

If you are in the campaign just ditch the starting main character as soon as the sister is available, she is FAR better to level than the starting character.

As for money as a mercenary, just hold out in a siege for multiple rounds racking up influence for each round .... easy peasy and the millions start rolling in. No loot though ... just money except if you choose to sally out at some point.

I like to use being a merc mid game to keep the factions that are getting too powerful in check. for example, the western empire will seem to absolutely annihilate everyone if I’m not careful, for 4 campaigns straight, they expand at ridiculous efficiency.

Me and my army of forest bandits like to raid a kingdoms Food supply villages then siege the towns until they starve

i produced a heir to my throne
once he became of age i got a marriage offer and quickly accepted it
too quickly as it turns out because his souse turns out to be 49 years old
making my heir incapable of doing his job to produce heirs to my throne
i started training her combat skills by letting her raid bandit hideouts herself
i led her into hundreds of battles against bandits and war parties on her own
her whole body turned into a pile of scars
but as the battanian clan leaders daughter she is
she turns out to be a highlander
the how to kill my (sons) spouse guide is what we need, my Lord

With this tutorial I started the Wildwood Mercenary Company. (WWMC for short). Used a few mods like Wood Elves for troops and Fourberie for more Bandit/mercenary gameplay. But in general this Tutorial started a great campaign for me. Thanks Hal. 💯
