I think all parents should keep their kids at home and teach them. Why don't they?

I know homeschooled kids who dont socialize at all, and their mom always does the talking, but not always the case

My son is not one to interact with others. I have to do the talking to the other kids and he will very slowly join in but tries hiding behind me for the conversation 😢
He is very well spoken and his teachers always tell us he has a very extended vocabulary.
It’s great. The interaction part is the area I’m most concerned with 🤕

One of our little girls at playgroup is homeschooled and she is the most social child out of the whole playgroup. She is very talkative, constantly making friends and is very interactive.

Home schooled literally just means taught at home she makes friends through playgroup, extra curricular activities and mom's friend's kids

As a homeschooled child myself, I would say that it depends on the child and their personality. Me and my sister are both homeschooled, and we both have completely different personalities and social skills. I was always the introverted shy kid without social skills (so basically the homeschooled kid standard) and she was always the extroverted talkative person who was always making new friends. So honestly no matter if your child is homeschooled or not, they’re gonna have different personalities and social traits.

This is one of the most annoying misconceptions about homeschooling! I always say this is not the early 1900s because homeschooling have the same opportunities as a public school… except there is freedom in homeschooling.

Going to school may severely cause social anxiety due to bullies. Mean and miserable middle-aged teachers are bullies there, too. Home schooling can allow the child to grow up without those obstacles. However, there is a very odd and weird way that most Americans (sensory types) think. Being an introvert is never a bad thing. In fact, it's a good thing. Wouldn't every parent prefer their daughter to be more on the introverted and reserved side vs being a loose goose, busting it open on OF 🥴

Actually it depends on the parents because I haven’t socialized with basically anyone my whole life besides family. I am forced to just do school all day for almost 12 hours straight and I basically pass out when I go to bed because of how tired I get.

Well it rly depends on how the parents structure the homeschooling. I’m sure there really are some kids that struggle socially & some parents that don’t rly put in the effort to foster these skills, but good on this mom for being proactive in having her daughter practice from a young age 🔥

That’s just the personality of some kids. I was homeschooled 4th-6th grade and before that I was a social little girl, but being homeschool caused a decline in my social skills and I completely shut down. To this day, my social skills still don’t add up to how they were before I was homeschooled. Though I went back last year, and school has helped a little bit, but still isn’t the same.

Depends who is teaching them. If i were to home school id be able to go all over with my kids but some parents dont go anywhere with their kid. They just have them home all day. Most homeschooled kids are like that.

They have to keep kids in the meat grinder to indoctrinate them in their agendas..i think best to home school then if no way to have interactions with other kids, then put them in as teens when they can protect themselves better..kids need other kids..just not turned into soldiers that can only follow orders vs thkg for themselves

I have 2 children. My son just turned 8 and my daughter is 5. I decided well before my son was school age that I would not be enrolling him or any of my future children into public school. Or any for that matter. We call our school “the school of life” because even as adults we are always learning every day. It never stops. When people started questioning my son (as if it’s their place they should be asking me) about school I’d have to explain and it’s insane to me that the ONLY thing people ever say is the “lack” of socialization. Which is hysterical to me bc both of my children are more social than I am and I went to public and I blame school culture for the reason I still struggle socially. They are also WAY more social and inclusive than all the school kids. I also really want them to continue to develop their OWN sense of self their own opinions style etc. rather than feeling the need to be like everyone else bc public schoolers all know how that goes. I’d have to say that my experience has been quite the opposite and my two are incredibly social. They can hold conversations with all types of age groups. Even adults. It can be difficult when there aren’t many other homeschoolers to be involved with but we make do.

I homeschool. My kids can function outside of a highly curated, child-centric environment. They don’t see the world as being separated into people with authority and people without it. Everything isn’t about pecking order and power structures, but about connection. This is the kind of socialization the world needs.

Im homeschooled, and i havent had a human interaction in 4 years. My mother locks me in the house and i can only contact my one and only friend through messages, i never am alooud to leave home. I was taught speaking up was talking back. So i cant experience any healthy relationships with people, because my mom is toxic and emotionally abusive. Id do anything to go to a public school.

YES there is a study that home school kids have a harder time to get to learn new friends the older they get. So going from being homeschooled to college is gonna be hard when they are older, not only because of socila aspect

The school age kids are the ones you need to worry about and it's half of them causing riots with their school mates across the country and a lot of major inner city communities. They are murdering people at alarming rates. They're not learning anything at all except how to become more criminals and rebel against their parents.
