One thign you forgot. The oh so high Taxesin the Colonies werent just lower thanthe Taxes in Britain, they were lower in the Colonial Era than in the Post Revolutionary Era. The Taxes were never lower than when the colonies were under the King. As for the Question of Monarchy in America being settled forever, I don't think this is True. No question is ever settled forever.

The US only got involved in the Second World War after the USSR and the British Empire stopped and started wearing down the Germans and Italians

Good video as always. Yet for me it's not this stage of the game yet in convincing my friends. First convince them that not all monarchs are evil tyrants. Then get them to support it more and more. When talking to most americans you need to be careful. For my america loving friends this would be to much to fast. Good video though!

@YoshiTheBlue Oh please, the US refused to enter WW1 until the Russian Empire had fallen and the Congress voted "congratulations" to the revolutionary government. As for US involvement in WW2, if the US had not pushed for the destruction of the German and Austro-Hungarian Empires there would have been no Hitler and no WW2 at all. Chew on that. Even Winston Churchill said so.

One interesting thing is that monarchies seem to be able to be multi-ethic in a way that democracies/republics cannot. As soon as a nation becomes a democracy/republic, various ethnic groups that lived along-side each other for centuries suddenly fight each other for power in the new "people's state". The Middle East illustrates this best.

Very interesting video. It's good to see things from a different perspective. I do agree that the President of the US has far more power than most monarchs. As far as I know all of the European monarchs are constitutional and don't have a whole lot to do with the running of the government.

@HDTVJunkie You first. Yes, the US invaded Canada in the War of 1812, but the first time was during the Revolutionary War in 1775 -the very *first* military operation authorized by Congress- under Benedict Arnold when they got their butts whipped by Sir Guy Carleton at Quebec City by a handful of redcoats and Canadian militia. But if you want to focus on 1812 go ahead, that was an even more shameless effort at a land-grab, stabbing a neighbor in the back while he's fighting for his life.

@bxjam85 There is not room here to list them all. Presidents can, and have, passed laws regulating what you can do with your own property, what you can eat, what you can drink, how you travel. The presidential "czars" (who are appointed, not elected) can enact regulations dealing with almost every aspect of your life -and I mean 'every' aspect. Even on simple availability, any French peasant could at any time walk into Versailles and talk to King Louis. Try that at the White House.

the way I see it, its not that the american revolucionist were against monarchy (which as masons, they clearly where) is that they wanted an empire of their own, and the next best choice to keep themselves in power without a crown is the republic, so there....

The protagonists of the "American Revolution" or rather American Rebellion were not poor, underfed oppressed serfs. The same forces that destroyed the Ancien Regime a la' France 1789-1793 were the same forces that made extremely wealthy Southern planters and Northern merchants/bankers rebel. Most of the major founder fathers were all Masons, excluding Jefferson and a few others. The Jacobins in France were basically an offshoot of the Bavarian "Perfectibilists" via Adam Weishaupt.
