Great car! 2013-2015 model is timeless beauty! Awesome video guys! Do these engines have an iron liner/sleeve cylinder block?
ОтветитьHow much was this service cost wise?
Ответитьslovakia man
Ответитьyou are a master mechanic!
ОтветитьUnreal how shit this cars are
Ответитьfun car to own untill everything works :P i have a6 allroad with similar engine bvj engine code, 350hp 4,2 v8 fsi, but for starter motor on allroad i looked there should be enaf room to do it actually on the car atleast from first look it looked like i have enaf room, but that RS5 it looks like kinda hustle or misson impossible even.
ОтветитьRtd people dont take care of there cars. All my 40ys of driving and owning 6 audis non of them have problems non from new to used. How the rest of the people have problems. Unless individuals
ОтветитьMost cars or shit boxs at some point 200k and up and its jist a matter of time like all motors. The maintenance and oil changes climate hot or cold and the way its deiven will cause chain tensions with plast guides break down with hight heat hight rpm at long distances . Personally i have found that audis are very reliable and expensive to repair. But they are reliable so its my go to car manufacturer.
ОтветитьWhat do you drive. “AUDI IS WORST VEHICLE”
ОтветитьYo amo mi Audi no es un RS pero es un 1.8t avant y funciona de lujo.
ОтветитьWhen a see VAG product i just turn and run away...as fastest I can.😂
ОтветитьHow much does it cost to take the engine out ?
ОтветитьThat thing looks nice, drives nicely, sounds good...but the moment it brakes down🤣....
ОтветитьLike the design and performance of these cars. But the possible costs of owning hold me back buying one. Thanks for the video and buying advise.
ОтветитьWhich catalytic converter are you using ?
Ответитьayoo we need to see the bad cam adjuster taken apart!
Ответитьhow much was the cost? bill amount? lol
ОтветитьWhat an ordeal. All of those repairs. But the test drive, and those incredible V8 sounds…totally worth it! But, of course, I’m not the one paying the bill. 😂
ОтветитьFantastic video. What do you think is a reasonable price in the UK for engine bearings, valves, valve springs, piston rings, chains and guides rebuild?
ОтветитьWow to think I always wanted to own rs5 😳
I think I’ll keep my money 💰 in my pocket the rs5 sounds like a money pit 😳💰💰💰
Be quicker to leave engine in and remove the front wings 🤣🤣👌
ОтветитьAudi went from 5 cylinder masterpiece engines in the 90's, to making crappy, over-complicated engines loaded with issues.
ОтветитьI was between an A5, S5, and thought about an RS5 from the B8.5 Gen. I settled on the A5 because it’s sooo much more approachable considering I do my own maintenance/ repairs. And I get my speed addiction from motorcycles hahaha
ОтветитьYou are amazing sir and you do make it look easy.
What are the chances in the future for you to make a comprehensive video or a series of videos regarding what involves an engine out and timing chains service on RS5.
I have a 2015 RS5 and I plan on keeping it for as much as I can as I love it ! But I wanna learn it inside out and do the work myself.
I’m in the middle of doing the carbon clean but with my luck ( nothing I ever accomplished came easy ) I had an injector stuck, I know I should have left it alone but after the extraction tool with the slide hammer shattered the plastics at the end of the injector I kinda had to pull it out. It required a pry bar a vice grip a piece of plywood and penetrating oil believe it or not,
I also wanna ask how nervous should I be about the injectors, I didn’t protect them from debris as much as I should have, and I also understand that “cleaning” them with carb cleaner is a waste of time unless you can advise me on something.
Thank you very much and I appreciate your videos.
German made junk o it's the way you maintain them everyone says well the only way to maintain them is to leave them parked
ОтветитьGerman made junk o it's the way you maintain them everyone says well the only way to maintain them is to leave them parked😊
ОтветитьDamn, state of those valves!
ОтветитьWhat was the cost for this work?
ОтветитьOk, I think ill stick to used porsches. lol
ОтветитьHi, With the fitment of the high flow cats further down the exhaust, how does this work with the o2 sensors?
ОтветитьMan, I am thinking about buying a 2015 Rs5 for about 3months and researching but this video i think had put me off. It's just so expensive if anything goes wrong. Great video.
ОтветитьThey don't make an easy engine , unreal how overly complicated they make it , some many parts involved
ОтветитьWhich high flow cats did you guys install and how far from the engine were they fitted?
ОтветитьDoing a power steering pump driveshaft on mine at the moment, subframe out. $2000 job for a $200 part. If the pump needs doing thats. Another $3000. Basically 10% the value of the car whenever something goes wrong.
ОтветитьMaybe the worst design I have ever seen.
ОтветитьHow to correctly position camshaft phase regulators ? Elsa says to position the phase regulators relative to their old marks, but what to do if you are not sure of the correct position of the phase regulators?
ОтветитьSeems like you can take out one of these V8 of an RS4 or RS5 blindfolded. I imagine there are very few master technicians left that are true mechanics and can do good problem solving like you. Commendable.
I've always wondered, and there are many online opinions, but is the B7 RS4 and B8 RS5 the same block or was it just Audi marketing saying it was a different engine all together?
audio play up for anyone else half way through ?
ОтветитьSo the problem whit the inlet camshaft whas Only the regulator? Problem solved with that? I got a S6 v10 and One inlet camshaft its out Of timing, car runs and drive, rpm are limited 4000, loose power. Maybe this is the same manteinence I need to do so.
Ive learned a lot whit your channel, congrats, and regards from México.
Cost ? I'm guessing 15k
ОтветитьThank you for this. I was going to buy an Audi rs5 of the same generation next month. After watching this video, I understood that I don't want to have the hassle of having an Audi again, after what happened with my previous Audi A5 of the same generation but with the 2.0, tfsi engine where the belt tensioner went out while driving basically nuking the engine making me have to replace the engine because it was cheaper than a complete rebuild, I was thinking of giving Audi another shot, but this popped up in my feed weeks before buying one, so I will take that as a sign
ОтветитьJust wondering why is there low compression if it’s out of time? Surely when the engine does a full rotation there is a point where none of the vales are open and there should be full compression?
ОтветитьEven though it's a large repair bill, still cheaper than getting a new one, or an unknown used one.
On second thought... 😬
All I have to say, THANK GOD California does NOT have vehicle inspections. Smog Check every other year, that's it.
ОтветитьGreat to see your professional work and that you are thorough with this rebuilt!
Ответитьamazing
ОтветитьI’ve not long bought one of these and you’ve scared the sh*t out of me 😂 I will now look after her 🤣
ОтветитьHey mate, excellent video am in the same boat have a 2011 rs5 which has bank 2 misfires with low compression on the entire bank and physical timing is off , removing the motor and box soon but wondering you only replaced one cam phasor, would you recommend replacing all 4 or just the faulty one, as in NZ they are stupid price from the dealer.
Ps. I know it's 3 years old hopefully I get response :)
