We were on the phone with KLM arranging the return ticket for my niece from Ghana back to Jamaica and there were no KLM flights or many other flights that did not go through US, which requires a US In transit Visa. Her return flight will take her through Brazil and Dominican Republic then to Kingston. There should be a direct flight from the Caribbean to the Motherland. It takes far less flying time, estimated less than 10 hours in flying time and cost extremely less, to fly directly from the Caribbean to the Motherland without having to stop in Europe.

This topic is being discussed for a very long time. Even you, Wode Maya was saying the same thing. 3 years ago a young British Nigerian started a flight from Nigeria stopping in Ghana and direct to Jamaica only 6 hours. The plan was to make regular flights but some how it got sabotage. However it will definitely have to happen one day, sooner rather than later.
