I stayed there last year on an (intentionally) long layover. It was very expensive for an airport hotel, but as an avgeek who loves mid-century modern design, it was well worth it.

had the exact same room there when i came to JFK in June. the windows were filthy on the outside so all of my photos were not so nice looking out onto JetBlue. i have 20 pencils since there was nothing else in the room to speak of. im a long fan of TWA and worked for them in st louis when i was young enough to do ramp baggage duties.flown through there a few times but mostly just changed planes and didn't stay. I liked the way it stayed true to its roots but i didn't like the price of a room for what you actually get

My Dad was a TWA pilot domiciled at JFK during the first years of my life. I have the vaguest of memories of the terminal, esp. the click-clack of the departure boards changing destinations and times. I'm thrilled they have restored it so nicely. It's a great tribute to when flying was something special, especially on TWA.

Thank you for showing a general plan indicating where the rooms are and how many. And where the hotel is into the airport. And where the airport is related to Manhattan. I read many descriptions and reviews and videos, and none of them mentioned these points.

Awfull experience . During all night until 5pm, after a long flight from Paris, there was a "fiesta" with music and shouting and singing very loud in the room next to our room. We could not sleep at all and had to go to the Lobby several times to ask for help. But nothing changed. For a more than 400 dollars room, we were given back 75... as a "sorry" ! Being reimbursed would have been the minimum from TWA Hotel if it would respect its clients ! Believe me. this hotel is great when you don't have any problem. If any, forget it !

Very nostalgic for me. I flew in & out of this terminal almost every Friday evening from
1964 to 1967. Drove from Rockefeller Center area and parked directly in front of the terminal bldg in those good 'ole days. I was a designer of fashion jewelry at age 22-25.
On weekends my escape from NY was a respite from office pressures. Usually caught the 5:30pm flight to Las Vegas, returning Sunday evening. Depending on the weather, often flew to San Juan or Palm Springs via LAX or SFO during the cold winter months.
Met interesting people on board and ocassionally a famous celebrity.
Had quite a lifestyle in those days that was taken for granted considering some ensuing difficult years of lfe's trials and tribulations. In the long run that's positive for developing strong character, endurance & developing a variety of category skills & experiences.
At age 80 now, am a semi-retired senior residing in Miami Beach since 1967. I stopped
flying after having traveled worldwide from 1969 - 1989. The deterioration of the dollar value along with the dramatic changes in all areas of traveling compared to yesteryears, set the stage for becoming accustomed to a lifestyle that I can control and enjoy staying at home.

Excellent video - thank you. Update about taking public transit to JFK - from Midtown Manhattan, it's easier and safer than ever - LIRR is now at Grand Central, with its own long awaited concourse. Just take it from GCT to Jamaica, grab AirTrain there. Also - for getting picked up or dropped off - even if checking out the hotel isn't in the cards, it's MUCH calmer and easier to use the hotel's driveway. And BTW, you expressed repeatedly how special this place is. I understood it intuitively even before going there once for a day visit in late 2019. Those are those who get it, and those that don't...

I recall the main entrance and check in area and was enthralled by the tube on my way to boarding one of the first B747 flights to LHR in November 1970. . Incidentally George Harrison and his then partner Patty Boyd were on the same flight.

Really a great review video. I stayed their with my partner for two days JUST as it re-opened from COVID lockdown. What we lacked in restaurants and bars we totally gained in almost having the entire place to ourselves and it was AMAZING. I used to fly out of the terminal in the late 80's/early 90's flying back and forth from college in Los Angeles - the plane was always a 747 and it was just a magical place . So great to see the building get a great new life.
