My favorite Honda ever made! These still look fucking awesome!
ОтветитьI'm buying one Monday, I test drove it today, and it's the best
ОтветитьI had a 98 just like that one. I was the original owner, 155k miles.
The Automatic Transmission was awful. I went through the original transmission, then I had two replacements, rebuilt & replaced under Honda warranty, which had to be rebuilt, and the gearing was never the same. Traded in on a 2004 Accord 3.0 V6 240 hp, which was wonderful.
Just because you love your car, dont try to keep it when the transmission is CRAP, trade it in the first chance you get. Evidently they never improved the Automatic Transmission throughout the 5th Generation run. 😖
I love this car but you can see why this was its last year- for less money you could have had the accord coupe ex v6 which had all power leather seats, bigger engine, more space, seating for 5, more creature comforts and quite similar performance. Not to mention the new civic coupe that arrived that year for a fraction of this prelude's cost . :/
Ответитьi just bought a mint 1998 black prelude with 172k on the clock...interior looks exactly the same! and it has rust around the right rear wheel well but thats it...kinda wierd lol
ОтветитьJust bought a '99 with 78K miles. Same paint and model. Love it!
Ответитьu didnt show the engine
ОтветитьIf you can see rust on the outside makes you wonder whats hiding.
ОтветитьУ меня тоже прелую
ОтветитьWow, it has a manual shift mode, not common for 2001.
Ответить5 years ago it was rare.
ОтветитьI own this with low km and love it. Caution: the timing belt absolutely cannot be overlooked and is a very pricey service. Worth it though.
ОтветитьAutomatic? Sorry, instant thumbs down.
Ответитьodomadic sucks! Luckily Ive got a Manual.
ОтветитьJust hit 89k in mine. Got it at 79k. Completely stock, very clean and well maintained. Owned by an older guy
ОтветитьThese cars get my dick hard.
Ответитьyou lost me when you said it was an auto. Noting worse than an automatic 5th gen prelude.
ОтветитьWhat's a good price to sell one if it has 75k miles on it?
ОтветитьHey man I m just curious how do you insert an aux amplifier in a prelude??? I m really curiouse
ОтветитьDO NOT...I repeat... DO NOT USE the red key. It will ruin and reset the ECU and erase your other keys for the car. That red key is only to be used to reset your car keys if you lose them. I learned this the hard way ($900 fix ECU and reset).
ОтветитьI have this same car and got it for $500
ОтветитьI have never been a fan of Honda their styling has gotten better over the years but not enough for me to go out and buy one now matter how great people say it reliability is. But the this particular model is the only one that I've ever liked. My music Teacher had a Brand new one back in the day 1993 I wasn't crazy about that body style but this one I'd buy it today. Use it as a 2nd car. Good review on it
ОтветитьAte you selling it? Please reply if you are.
ОтветитьI'm thinking to get a Prelude for first car
Ответитьfucking automatic......
ОтветитьIt's also rare to see these kinds of cars stock nowadays unless it belonged to a little old lady who drove it to the grocery store and back
ОтветитьDude where did u take this at cuz I own this car now plzz message bak or on fb Justin Rhodes I uave the prelude as my cover photo
ОтветитьIt's positively Cruel that the JDM Models have stock Automatic Climate Control & Navigation :P
I never did understand the JDM Models with features unavalible on the American models.
This was a Pennsylvania car. I can tell because of the stickers in the windshield.
ОтветитьGreat video, and thanks for finding one of these! I would have loved to have seen a test drive to see what you thought of it. I've had one for 4 years, and I absolutely love them.
ОтветитьIMO you are the best reviewer on YT, Saabkyle used to be great but now his reviews are long and boring. I always look forward to your reviews good job
ОтветитьCan you do an s2000?
ОтветитьIdk why Christian and Sofyan both don't like hard plastic dash and only like the soft padded ones lol
ОтветитьLove these preludes!
ОтветитьThanks for the upload! Loved these cars, and still do today!
ОтветитьOr a coupe styled liftback/hatch. The practicality and versatility of an RSX/integra, or older Eclipse and Celica amazes me each time I have a friend that uses them to move furniture and such!
ОтветитьThanks for finding that Prelude,I appreciate it!!
ОтветитьNo, just a 370Z long ago on the 2theredline channel. I'm sticking to cars at least 10 yrs old or older on this channel. I could start searching for a 350z & & G35 on here tho
ОтветитьHave you done a G37s?
ОтветитьI miss that old Honda startup noise :(
ОтветитьI don't care about the automatic, I'd take this car! Other than the rust spots, this car is clean. I was obsessed with these cars back then.
Ответитьback in 2001, my buddy had one of these brand new and I had a stock 90 Toyota Supra Turbo and oddly enough the Prelude was able to stay with me, at least through the corners. always one of my favorite Hondas.
ОтветитьThe Prelude would only struggle once again in the current market place. There's already many versions of both the Civic Coupe & Accord Coupe which leaves little meaning for a Prelude comeback. IMO what makes more sense is an Intega/RSX comeback as there's no midsize or small sport coupe in the Acura lineup ;)
ОтветитьHonda should bring back the Prelude, but the Accord Coupe with the 3.5 ((or even with the 2.4) and 6 speed manual is about as good (:
ОтветитьMy grandma had a 89 Prelude. It was supposed to be my first car when I turned 16, but they got rid of it :(
ОтветитьAnd then, there's also the RSX/Integra DC5.
ОтветитьIt's never truly been replaced. I guess in a way the replacement was both the S2000 and possibly the new Accord Coupe.
Ответитьlooked like it was drippin oil
ОтветитьActually I was the first one Tha89Kid
Ответитьi like the late 80's and early 90's prelude they were my favorite preludes. My dad owned a 86 si without the 4ws but it never let him down until it started to rust. So he got rid of it instead of fixing it. But overall great cars
