Ali RA’s brothers ( all are around 10 years apart)
1.Talib (almost age of Prophet SAW)
2.Jafar (around 10 yrs younger than the Prophet SAW)
3.Aqeel (around 20 yrs younger than the Prophet SAW)

Abu Talib’s real name- Abd Manaf

Ali RA mother Fathima bint Asad (first Hashimi women to accept islam,)

His mother also raises the Prophet SAW as the Prophet lived in Abu Talib's house

The financial conditions of Abu Talib were difficult, so to help him, Abbas RA raises Jafar RA and the Prophet SAW raises Ali RA

Ali RA born 10 yrs before prophethood ( around 30 years younger than the Prophet SAW)

Ali RA could have been adopted by the Prophet SAW as a son, but Allah had decreed something else

Ali RA witnessed the changes in the house, the going to Hira, first revelation, when he saw Prophet SAW praying at night after muddathir being revealed he inquired

The Prophet SAW said
دين الله الذي اصطفاه لنفسه وبعث به رسُله فادعوك إلى الله لا شريك له وإلى عبادته وأن تكفر باللات والعزى

Ali RA said
هذا أمر لم أسمع به قبل اليوم فلست بقاض أمرا حتى أحدث به ابا طالب

The Prophet SAW said
اذ لم تسلم فكتم

Accepted islam the next day

He Would accompany the Prophet SAW in the initial dawah and would not speak but listen

“حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ سَابِطٍ، - وَهُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ - عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، قَالَ قَدِمَ مُعَاوِيَةُ فِي بَعْضِ حَجَّاتِهِ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ سَعْدٌ فَذَكَرُوا عَلِيًّا فَنَالَ مِنْهُ فَغَضِبَ سَعْدٌ وَقَالَ تَقُولُ هَذَا لِرَجُلٍ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ ‏"‏ مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلاَهُ فَعَلِيٌّ مَوْلاَهُ ‏."‏ وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ ‏"‏ أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلاَّ أَنَّهُ لاَ نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي ‏."‏ وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ ‏"‏ لأُعْطِيَنَّ الرَّايَةَ الْيَوْمَ رَجُلاً يُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ."‏

Narrated to us `Ali ibn Muḥammad: “Narrated to us Abu Mu`awiyah: “Narrated to us Musa ibn Muslim, from Ibn Sabiṭ, and he is `Abdur-Raḥman, from Sa`d ibn Abi Waqqaṣ, he said “Mu`awiyah came on one of his pilgrimages and Sa`d entered upon him. They mentioned `Ali, and Mu`awiyah criticized him. Sa`d became angry and said: “Are you saying this of a man of whom I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: “Whomever I am a Mawla of, then `Ali is his Mawla.” And I heard him say: “You are to me like Harun was to Musa, except that there is no Prophet after me.” And I heard him say: “I will give the banner today to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger.”””””

Ali was envious of Aisha's position in the prophet's life. He joined rebels and caused strain in the reign of Aboobaker, the caliph. Please, no flowery speeches about Ali.
