ONKYO - TX-NR1030 Network A/V Receiver

Upss. There is no connector Digital Audio Output

I own this receiver I had a tx-nr1009 before. I am very impressed so far it runs much cooler than older models. It also has 11.4 outputs so I'm going to run a Emotiva xpa-3 for my fronts and have the same total investment as running the flagship tx-nr3030. I also like that the power supply and caps are massive compared to the tx-nr838. The 1030 is over 11 pounds heavier than the 838. The 1030 and 3030 also have twin fans on the sides the 737 and 838 only have a single top fan.

I am hoping that Onkyo offers a firmware upgrade to dts-x with an acceptable fee this summer. It seems like every time I upgrade my Onkyo it becomes obsolete very quickly. I have been an Onkyo customer for 25 years! I even stayed after all the HDMI failures. I'm afraid to say if there is no firmware update for my tx-nr1030 I will be moving over to Denon since they are offering a dts-x firmware upgrade for an acceptable fee.
