Which AI Deep Research Tool Is Worth It? ChatGPT vs Grok vs Perplexity And More!

I have come to like perplexity a lot.. grok is good but it takes a long time thinking and researching..

Excellent review on AI's. However, if I am unable to access any software without compromising my privacy such as parting with my email and telephone number, then Rock and Storm will definitely NOT be on my RADAR. As a result, Perplexity will be my choice.

I agree...Grok 3 (with deeper and thinking modes on) is remarkable. Recently, I've found it to be the most satisfying and perceptive--superior to perplexity, google, copilot, etc. I have no interest in Deepseek/China/Localinstall. Haven't used ChatGPT enough.

For deep research, neither GPT 4.0 or Grok has been satisfactory. Neither are efficient at getting large Excel files from DropBox, and Grok really struggles with an Excel download. Pretty much unusable as of March 2025. Looking to trying Perplexity, Storm and Deep Seek. Thank you for this refreshingly brief comparison.

Perplexity is by FAR the best! The others are no more than improved Google search engines.

why is Grok's interface language is displaying in Russian? Did that happen with your's too?

I feel that the best reports are made in ChatGPT and DeepSeek. Grok-3 still has a way to go to be fully complete.

What the heck! This is the most succinct, well thought out, and comprehensive report I've seen on this topic. Thank you Jonathan! Our company has been using Perplexity Deep Research but have been having issues with it getting stuck and never actually finishing the report (which is why I stumbled on your video.... looking for a new option). Grok 3 has given me a few free deep researches and so far, very impressed. Only thing I wish it had was the ability to export the report (like Perplexity).
