this video sucks. you need to work on your content bud. you're just rambling
ОтветитьI want to do some construction VR environment for research. Is a game development course in Unity a good start? Or i need to focus on VR developments. I do not find much courses on VR development. Mostly just game development
ОтветитьIn my experience the biggest problem is still the interaction system. Unity provides their own toolkit for this and while it has gotten ALOT better over the years, it still missing crucial stuff thats expected to be standard in modern VR titles. Currently I am implementing a Hand Posing system and trying to also make it support the Index finger tracking.
ОтветитьI really like how this old cosmic icon looks like it's a wizard's hat
ОтветитьI like the doggo, and dont like how this video doesnt covering the common problems.
Developing for VR have few things which are complitely different from developing almost all other nonVR game which was not being covered at all:
#1. I think its roughly 70% of things need to be tested with HMD (Head Mounting Displays), which means each time you need to test something - you put your headset on. And then put it off. And you repeat this over and over again. And most of us working by sitting at the desk, which make each "test runs" even harder and longer, because you would need to find a nice position to not smash your monitor or stuff on the desk, or just stand up. We now have Quest3 with better passthrought mode - yes, but maybe we develop for other HMDs and simply doesn't have a Q3? Also its not the best idea to spend too much time with HMD on your head because of various health related things.
#2. Probably 90% of all tutorials which you would find at least for unreal engine related to graphics and VFX are made for Deferred Rendering, not the Forward which used in VR projects. That means what literally a tons of your previously made VFX and shaders stuff simply wouldnt work in VR and you will have a trouble to find a workaround for forward rendering if you are not skilled enougth.
#3. Optimization. nonVR projects are way-way more forgiving if you didnt spend enougth time to optimize something or simply doesnt know how to do this. Your game run at 50-60fps? Cool. If its nonVR project. If you develop for VR - you have a trouble...
#4. VR games have way more variability in terms of how you would interact with the world. Some bloody simple things like climbing ladders - are whole big question for VR games and making one for nonVR games are a lot more easier. Question like how animations of VR hands should work for better experience? There's a lot of possible options compared to nonVR games and each and every options are arguable,
and testing and finding the right one is up to developer and all that question only make development harder.
#5. Things which look good on monitor can look worsted or just different (and almost always for worst) in HMD. So if in developing for nonVR we have a cycle of: lookink at model in texturing software -> check it in engine, fix some errors or just polish it, in VR game we adding the extra step: lookink at model in texturing software -> check it in engine -> check it in HMDs.
How do i book a call with you?
ОтветитьCan you please make a video on Native OpenXR development on the Meta Quest3?
ОтветитьDefinitely need to update this with Unity no longer being suggested, unless people enjoy going bankrupt.
ОтветитьHi bro, i just want you advise which help me a lot in my upcoming Computer science project, bro i know pretty much about unity but i have no idea about VR technology, how to make it, we have a pending time of 2 semesters, so should we have to go for VR gaming bcz our teachers demands us for VR or AI related work, so please give some of your remarks
ОтветитьHi bro
ОтветитьDo you still recommend unity?
ОтветитьWhere's the quiz? Didn't stand out in the 2 links in the video description.
ОтветитьIs there a way to use python in VR?
ОтветитьI have an brilliant idea for gr app and I am soo excited to learn how to develop this app

ОтветитьWhat is unity?
Ответитьwhat about the OVR framework? Would you recommend that too?
ОтветитьI have skill issue
ОтветитьHey Justin i recommend reaching out to @Imphenzia for low poly modelling in regards to your academy. perfectly suited to VR games
ОтветитьIf we use the new A.I. Powered Tools, we can say that making games in general these days is way easier. NVIDIA's Face Animation tool, Materialize A.I. tool for generating Textures, in Unite 2022 they presented a new project for targeting, and Rigging 3D Characters by using a free tool that will be available in 2023... so... in general Game Develpment is becoming a more accessible career. X.R. is a part of this movement, specially thanks to the Metaverse era we got coming up next years.
As a Gamer & as a Game Developer, I can't say I'm not excited about this 🎮✌🏻
Hey Justin, vr dev is hard at my country cause you should pirate every vr game and development software
ОтветитьReally getting me to start thinking about vr development I’ve been posting content on vr trying to grow with it i think it’s best to start your vr journey in development and content creation right now
ОтветитьAre you filming yourself with old webcam? At least 1080p would be nice
