I busted out my level 100 team that I cleared the main story with, swapping out one of the Paldean starters with Ogrepon in the Hearthflame Mask, not a single one of my team went down, and Ogrepon's Ivy Cudgel was the finishing move of the battle. Imagine Kieran's heartbreak and humiliation.

I had to do it against Kieran not realising him and Carmine would have special dialogue for it. The rest of the team was dead

I did this just to irritate Keiran, not gonna lie. After being consumed with the thought he HAS to beat me at all costs, thought this was a nice little reminder/wakeup call for him.
Didn't have Ogrepon when I went up against Carmine as I didn't know she'd comment on that.

My gosh, I don't think I could've done that to Kieran. My heart was aching the whole time for him already.

At first I felt bad for Kieran.
Then he turned into a little piece of sh*t inbetween expansions.
So I decided, "I am going to take your f*cking soul with your own waifu."

And then I did.
It was a good day.

I really like Kieran, he had the most interesting character development of any rival. Going from weak upstart to conquering his school with the intent of defeating you. Sure he got humiliated to the point of probably needing therapy, but wow, I can’t remember a rival with that much intensity and desire to dethrone the player character.

It was also an interesting take to be the rival who is being chased after rather than the other way around.

i actually had ogerpon at the front of my party when i batteled kieren so i already knew he reacts to ogerpon being sent out, it's pretty cool

I absolutely love my Ogerpon, so I made sure to beat Kieran's ass when he said that. At least Carmine was sweet when she saw Pon-Pon, though
