Venonat and Venomoth are both more memorable than any pokemon from gen 4 and up, even though it's only been in the few game, it have.
It's my favorite pokemon from gen 2.
And yeah you heard that right.
I know (now) that it's in gen 1, but as a kid I didn't, I never encountered it in gen 1, because of it's very limited location, it's only located at a location where you don't necessarily enter the grass area anyway.
Where in gen 2 it's located litterally at the spot where I personally had the hardest time with progressing in the game, plus I grinded the most there because of that.

And after that, the sudowoodo.
Yeah I just couldn't comprehend as a kid, that I needed to water the fucking tree to progress in the game.
So the most interesting Pokémon I could find there was Venonat.
And I found the evolution so interesting that I grinded it all the way up to level 31, just to evolve it, while still being at the 2. Gym, where the highest leveled Pokémon by trainer and/or wild is like 17 max.

I tried to use the Google lens app with my pokémon sword copy and the animation didn't happen.

I may be a little late here, but you can get Mew in Brilliant Diamond/Shinning Pearl by having a save file of Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee, so that's how you can get Mew fast & legit.

If you had red or blue in vc on the ds and you had glitched a mew, for a time at least,not sure if it remained like that, it was considered legit and was movable through pokemon home

I remember how frustrated I would get because on Pokémon Crystal I had every single Pokémon all 150.. except for Mew. There was a city I think it was Celadon City where an old npc would tell you to go talk to him once you collected all 151, and I was alwayyyyss curious what he would’ve said/given had I collected all 151 ☹️ to this day I still wonder

That's funny about the Trainers that can have shiny mons: because 2 weeks ago, I went into Battle Frontier in Emerald, and one of the trainers had a shiny Seaking. It was so much of a WTF moment for me that I even took a picture with my phone. I was literally fixating my screen for over a minute, jawdropped.

MEW: back when i had pokemon stadium when you beat certain leagues u get rewarded with mew/kabuto/omanite/starters that you could tranfer to pokemon blue and red since you could insert the cardriges at your nitendo64 controller

I remember playing pokemon silver and coming across a shiny venonat. Thought my game glitched or something. Didn't know shiny's were a thing. Caught it. Game didn't die, kept it in my party, showed all my friends. Nobody was impressed lol is it because it was venonat or did everyone know about shiny's? Also gave that game away completed pokedex to friends little brother and he restarted the game didn't save mew, celebi or shiny venomoth.

i guess if you were to pirate Pokémon ranch you could get one. the method for acquiring the mew is illegal but the mew itself is legitimate.

I would love to see him on that top line. Even throw him out there on the top power play line. I feel like all he needs is a little bit of a confidence boost to get going. And there’s been a few times where he’s passed the puck and I would have loved to see him shoot. He will have his time soon enough.

My Pokemon Ranch sucks. Only works with Diamond/Pearl because they never released the Platinum update in the west.

I have wanted to collect it, though. Without those copies, you can still make progress bit by bit, but it takes a while (you get a new Pokemon like every day at the Ranch) and it's impossible to claim it until you can transfer an egg in, which requires Diamond/Pearl. To say I have no bothered to play through those versions would be understating my hate for them. Platinum fixed them, they were a MESS and so unbearably slow.
