Fallout 4 TIPS: 20 Beginner Tips and Help if you're new to Fallout 4

Just started playing fallout for the first time ever and am in love with this game and this video is helping me out a lot

I just started FO4 after running through Fallout New Vegas and I’m LOVING it

Never played a fallout game. Ever. This convinced me to give it a go for the heck of it.

Just started playing a couple of days ago

I'm at a level 200 there's one thing on the Pep Boy I don't know how to use is control pad that moves up down left and right where you can put stuff in them little boxes that's the only thing I don't know how to use in Fallout

I have seen several mistakes made in Fallout and most people here either listen to Oxhorn whose information is not right or they listen to Jeff and his build gets them killed when he cheated and switched from STR to AGI and back. Don't listen to idiots thats how you can lose at Fallout.

Tip #1 straight out of the Vault STOP WASTING PERKS ON GARBAGE! Too many videos I seen in the past 7 years critics like Oxhorn and Jeff they cheat and use Idiot Savant, Aqua Boy/ Aqua Girl, VANS, Mr. Sandman, Bloody Mess, Moving Target, Rad Resist, Lead Belly, Adiantum Skeleton, and Invincibility but they still die or don't die because the mod corrupts their data. Their level is fake they are Level 1 and they don't have all the critical perks. So don't get yourself killed and stop wasting perks on garbage.

The perks you get STR Toughness at level 1 skip the level 2 perks and take Blacksmith and Armorer. Strength should be Level 4. Perception leave it at 4 you only need the first few perks. Do not boost it to Level 5 until you are ready to fight Kellogg and the Institute. Endurance max it out to 1 and max out Toughness stay away from the perks below it you don't need them until later and don't use mods that boost your character they can screw up Endurance. Charisma 6 you need it to trade and build settlements. Only get Barter, Cap Collector, Black Widow/ Lady Killer, and Local Leader the rest are junk.

Intelligence 6 you need this to hack computers and open locks and it is used for crafting. Boost this to 6 and take all the perks. Avoid VANS thats garbage. Do not boost to 8 until you are ready to take on the Institute and start Automation. Do Not Take Nerd Rage or Nuke Physicist you don't need them until the end. Agility also needs to be 4 or 5 take all the perks but avoid Mr. Sandman and until you are ready and do not take any perks below it they are garbage. Luck for the most part leave it at 4 first 4 perks are good except Bloody Mess and the rest are garbage. Don't listen to Jeff and place it at 5 or max it out Idiot Savant is garbage and you don't need it.

Tip #2 Build Your Settlement! this is how you level up.

Tip#3 Leave Quest Companions and Faction Leaders at Home! if they are part of a quest you leave them at home when it is complete the exception is Piper, McCready, Curie, Cait, Ada, Gage, Codworth, Dogmeat, and Strong. Leave Nick, Preston, Handcock, Deacon, Dance, X88, and Longfellow at their homes they are quest related leave them at their homes when the quest is complete because they can assign you a new one.

Tip #4 Stop Eating RADS! Those things can kill you all food items need to be cooked and all Prewar items need to be sold. Don't eat RADS!

Tip #5 Stop Getting Addicted! Drinking beer, shooting Psycho, or taking Jet can get you addicted and too much can kill you. Don't be like Mama Murthy or Cait stop getting addicted.

Tip #6 Park Your Power Armor! You don't need to go running around in Power Armor wasting the batteries only use it against Synths, Muties, Gunners, and Robots or if you go into a area saturated with RADS or your Geiger counter pings. Tip 7 goes with it.

Tip #7 Remove your Fusion Cores and sell depleted ones to Carla. Fusion Cores don't leave them in your hard suit or someone will steal it. Take the core out and sell any depleted ones Vault 81 and Carla can use them.

Tip #8 Scrap Everything you Find. if you pick up junk scrap it don't let it take over your inventory.

Tip #9 Take Their Weapons and Armor! Scrap All Mutie, Raider, and Synth and Robot Weapons. Keep Brotherhood, Gunner, Railroad, and Minutemen weapons. Weapons and Armor generated by Mobs are garbage the exception are Gunners who have the best weapons. Raider Guns, Mutie Weapons, and the blasters carried by Synths and Robots are garbage scrap them don't let them take up your inventory. Also if your enemy is wearing armor take the pieces do not steal the frame.

Finally Tip #10 Do Not Use Heavy Weapons In A Firefight! and Stop Wasting Ammo! Heavy Weapons consume Ammo and only the Brotherhood of Steel sell refills and they are hard to find. Put that Minigun, Bazooka, Grenade Launcher, or Fatman in storage only use it if you have to face a Deathclaw, Behemoth, Guai, or any dangerous beast over your level or if you are facing a boss. Do not take Heavy Weapons into battle you will be wasting ammo save them for the boss.

How do you get rid of rad? Also when you go to your pip boy does the game pause and when you go out does it continue?

How do you know when to eat or drink I don’t know if you need that to survive

I didn’t what rad mean so I kept going to the water and out thinking it was good that I was getting more rad 😭

The only reason I disagree with codsworth is because of the lone wanderer perk which is honestly better early game plus you can carry more

I just wish my bullets done more damage and I could actually keep ammo. If that were possible I would love to complete this game.

In the beginning I carry mutant hound chops. They take away rads and give health at the same time. Very helpful when you can’t carry too much
