Doder, you dont know what the fuck you are talking about. First of all Sergio beat him 6 out of 11 matches that they fought. Sergio got in trouble and spent some time in the pen. Thats the only reason Paulie outshined Sergio

if Reyes hadn't lost that fight to Orlando Canizales in 1994, he might have been a good champion. but he wasn't the same after that. Paulie became a great champion after his first loss. It just goes to show you how much more mature Ayala was as a professional. Amateur champions come and go. But true Champions overcome adviersity

Lmao!! Please, Sergio was good but not as a pro....Paulie had more heart and drive! He became the champ and if Sergio wanna blame it on going to jail then that's on his dumb ass!! Coming up I watched both and was even there when he took his first lost. Don't matter now, too late but much respect to the CHAMP Paulie Ayala out that Fort Worth Texas

The point system was wack as you can see they ain't registering any of ayalas punches then some of those judges are 150 years old by the the time they push the button it was a horrible system the fight was alot closer than what they made it out to be

I thought Sergio beat Canizales clearly - but I am from Ft Worth and watched Paulie and Sergio in person many times. I think in the end, he mentally just let that get to him - he was very talented. Paulie really shined in the pro's and I remember him beating Tapia that first time!! Go Paulie! Great seeing these guys going at it in this clip. You can see how Paulie matured in his movement and timing in the pro's--- watching this from the past.

Sergio Reyes defeated Paulie Ayala and Johnny Tapia in the amateur ranks. The only one to beat both of them in the pros was Marco Antonio Barrera

I always believed that the point system was stupid they need done counting all the punches that Ayala landed this was a good fight
