Nah I wasn't screaming about the Steam Controller, just Steam Input which has always made sure my Playstation controllers do in fact work flawlessly on PC

Turn it off, you can use an xbox three sixty controller for on Steam is gonna get the third party controllers for years. I was rocking the rock candy xbox three sixty controller to play most of my computer games.😅

My 360 controllers were used excessively and are still in good condition unlike every other controller I own that I didn't use as much. Especially my PS4 controllers, used a lot less in comparison but both PS4 controllers have bad stick drift, messed up triggers, charging port is pulled downwards, etc.

The Horipad + Switch controller has the same overall design as this Steam controller. I hope we see more Steam controllers. Not just from Hori, but also from 8bitdo and others.

Right now on PC I use my 8bitdo Ultimate Switch controller. I find with the included 2.4g dongle I get the best wireless connection which is crucial for gyro. Unfortunately gyro and the like doesn't work unless it's in Switch mode and while in Switch mode the back buttons can only be assigned to other Switch buttons.

One of my favorite features of the Steam controller is mouse control even while Steam is off or temporarily inaccessible due to a user access control prompt or something. I'd love if it these "Steam Controllers" had that ability as well. I'm guessing without a trackpad though that's probably not going to happen. Although I think the previously mentioned Horipad + controller has a feature that lets the gyro emulate the analog stick. I don't know if that's handled via software or if it's all onboard the controller, but if onboard maybe there's hope for gyro mouse support without Steam.

As a guy who uses a PS4 controller on PC. YES I never even dared to try to connect them wirelessly. I just plug the thing in every time. Plus half the games do not support it, so technically I can play on it, but I have to figure out controls by myself because the game doesn't know itself.

hori is a great company but this is literally a switch controller with another skin, a switch pro controller (official or like 8bitdo) is a perfect alternative and is way cheaper and offers the same functionality, i always used a switch controller for steam

8BitDo just released the ultimate 2C. You can get a super nice controller with hall effect sticks for under £30.

my only complaint is that it lacks track pads i would LOVE having a controller with trackpads like the steamdeck since some games will benefit from them greatly!

Controllers have vibration/haptics, sixaxis, home button you can even go turbo on some controllers. What does the keyboard have?

Hori is a solid company. Or at least every Hori controller i've used has been solid.

Also PS4/5 controllers natively work on PC but even better on Steam, it just takes a bit of setup
Epic games store though for those who use it (free games lol) need to use an application to make their controller be detected as a Xbox controller to play certain games.

all generic controller are emulated to Xbox controller using xinput emulators.
no all of 59% are using xbox controllers.

fail. if you used Steam deck and installed Windows on it, trackpad is necessary for running mobile games through BlueStacks. Having no trackpad means possibly giving up entire mobile gaming on PC. and now even ps controller has at least 1 trackpad. also d-pad looks bad i don't think i can wavedash super fast in Tekken with such d-pad. anyways d-pad wise Sega Saturn pad and Razor Raion were the best.

The ONLY thing wrong about that new Steam controller is the xbox button layout.
If it used the Nintendo button layout, it would be damn near perfect.
