ОтветитьThe homeless in many states probably from Florida + other nursing schools/highway robbery. Please no one attend ICHS international college of health sciences in Boynton Beach (acen accredited). 90% student body are from California and unaware of battles & scheming that awaits. Spread The Word. 100s don't pass exit exam each semester and held there much longer than anticipated. "Contracts" change every semester. With that $$ you can move to any state's community college!! Where goes the money ICHS?? Barely a campus. Little clinical site availability. Students pay proctor most exam. On campus testing is another nightmare. Exams questions completely random and each is at least 30-45% grade. Staff are 'fired' and rehired rotating positions constantly. Staff death from overdoses and fired for sexual favor 'rumors'. Even 'rumor' of students suicides. (I guess death happens in hospitals too, it's just preparation?) Unable to reach staff by phone, email, or in-person and so many LIES. Instructors rotate from agency. Some graduated from shut-down diploma mills. Family&friend-run business racket- there's many if FL. Somehow does DeSantis benefit?!
ОтветитьNursing students need to realize that nursing school is very concept based, unlike the way we’ve been taught in school we need to change how we comprehend information and study because memorizing isn’t gonna cut it
ОтветитьNot me
ОтветитьI soooooo needed this!!!!!
ОтветитьWhat click bait. You didn’t fail and this advice is like fluff. ‘When I say fail I mean don’t get to the point of fail. Keep studying and pass’ 👌🏽
ОтветитьWhat is the name of the song in the background
ОтветитьIn high school I had ambtions to be a nurse - and made that my major when I started college. As the years went by I took it for granted doing the prerequistes were not a walk in the park. From that point I changed my major. I give a anbundancd of respect to those who successfully earned the title RN .
ОтветитьI have been a nurse for nearly 30 years and a nursing professor and Dean of nursing for nearly half of that time. Nursing school is hard! You are challenged to think in a way that you have never had to think before. Most school courses require you to remember data and spit it back out on an exam, that is not learning, that is memorizing and that is not how the NCLEX tests.
This is my advice to students who are unsuccessful. First, STOP and do not use the word FAIL because you are not a failure. Just because you are not successful at one school does not mean you will not be successful at another. All schools teach the same content by the end of the program, but how each school goes about it differs vastly. Also, you should practice roughly 3000 questions before you take your NCLEX and starting those "practice" questions upon graduation is way to late!!!! You need to start on day one of nursing school.
How??? You must get a 3 or 4 different NCLEX study books and let’s say today you are studying about UTI. Go to the table of contents and find all the UTI questions in each NCLEX book. They do not even have to be from the current year, but make sure you do not have a book from 1970. Then, answer every question from each book that pertains to a UTI . . . AND READ and understand THE RATIONALE!!!! I guarantee, if you understand the rationale of every one of those UTI questions, then no matter how the UTI question is worded on your next nursing exam, you WILL GET IT RIGHT, I promise!!!
I have never ever been unsuccessful in anything that I have done until I hit the comprehensive exams for my PhD. I thought it was the end of the world. I cried for three years and complained for another four. Now schools are popping up that say if you are All But Dissertation (ABD) with your doctorate, you can come and finish with us. So guess what. . . . I graduate in 12 months with my doctorate. Never let anyone, not even a Dean or faculty member, tell you that you are not cut out to be a nurse. That is NOT THEIR JOB! Their job, just like patient education, is to put the cards on the table and make sure that you understand the cards, it is your job to decide if nursing is not for you or if you should just try another school. Keep the faith and keep moving forward.
Nurse Bass, great to finally meet you briefly at Niko’s. This was one of the first videos of yours I watched. Appreciate the help along the way. Keep doing you!
ОтветитьAmen Amen and Amen. Thank you so much for this video. May you be to blessed to be stressed and amazingly blessed for Success
Ответить"your boy Brad"......LOL..LOL....
ОтветитьWell I'm not a straight a student so this is terrifying to me 😂
ОтветитьClick BAIT
Ответитьi'm terrified to even apply to a nursing school. Literally terrified. Because I don't believe in myself enough. I've always failed math classes (took tutoring and still failed!), science classes were ok.....my high school GPA was SHIT.
i'm just afraid that I cannot do it.
But at this point in my life, i'm ready to tussle with the beast and win.
So i'll just go for it and apply. Send some prayers my way pls fam.
Thank you.
Great video!! I actually quit my BSN nursing program one semester in because I realized I couldnt be happy in this practice. I made a video sharing my story on it too. I agree how nursing is NOT to be underestimated & how you should strive to be your best.
ОтветитьI underestimated "the beast". Thanks for the advice!
ОтветитьI wish I had viewed this ,2 yrs ago! I needed this advice. I felt alone in classes/clinicals and became complacent. Now I'm out! Any suggestions on how to get back into a different School?
ОтветитьDude! You were saying facts. Anybody who watches this video this man is speaking FACTS. I almost became complacent and this video warned me not to. I love you bro, I subscribed!!!
ОтветитьThis is how i feel now. I just did nursing research and boy oh boy if i really fail imma have to sit out 1 full year
ОтветитьTotally agree about the underestimation.. You better understand what those instructions are looking for and alter your study habits and methods as needed.. It's a completely unique type of education
Ответить@nursebass if still taking pre-reqs but plan to go into the nursing field. Any pointers for people that work full time? I know its going to be very hard. But I know I could do it. Any study techniques you frequently use?
ОтветитьWHAT KINDA BOOK SHOULD I BUY FOR LVN PROGRAM.. I HAVENT STARTED AND I FEEL LIKE I WANNA PREPARE COUPLE MONTHS BEFORE ENTERING THE LVN PROGRAM???? NEED HELP!!!!
ОтветитьNeeded to hear this hanging on my third semester trying to find the motivation to keep going it’s been so overwhelming I’ve had a cushion every semester so far until this semester I’m barely passing and it feels like it gets harder and harder but I’m fighting
ОтветитьThank you for this motivational video. I've been struggling and underestimating how hard nursing school really is and this video has helped me realize what I need to fix to improve my grades. Thank you!
ОтветитьI failed clincial any tips toget back up
Ответитьloved the code. great motivation, Thank you.
ОтветитьHey Brad! I actually did just fail out of nursing school, and it broke my heart! I know I want to try again though. To everyone in the comments, believe what Brad says! If you think nursing school is easy, you're wrong! Please study and don't fail like I did! God bless everyone through their journey!
ОтветитьLove this!!!
ОтветитьI really like your videos! I’m 4 weeks into my first semester... and I almost totally dropped the ball, because I was overconfident going into it.
Pathophysiology midterm is on Monday. I’m doing my best to make up lost ground and prepare for it. I’m aiming for a %100. ;)
Thanks for this video. It did some good for me.
There is any one who know about Doctor of Nursing ractitioners course...??
ОтветитьEnd of semester 1. My issue is I hate asking for help. As a single mom I have to work and do nursing school. I have an amazing boyfriend who is 100% supportive of school and would like to help me financially so I don't have to work so much and can make it through school. But I am struggling with accepting help.
ОтветитьQuoting anti science bible is stupid
ОтветитьThx you for your advice... I really needed it. Sometimes we expect it from family and friends... However most times it comes from strangers! I'm supper scared, but I'm gonna do this.
ОтветитьYou’re so cute
ОтветитьI under estimated the best in second semester and failed with an 79.4% : (
Ответитьwhispers I subscribed.
runs away
You saved me today! I'm not even in nursing school yet. I take my Teas Tuesday 🙏. I can't lie I been half way studying, but I'm really on my sh*t now. Just Thank you
ОтветитьI almost failed out medsurg this spring semester in PN school. I bombed 3 test 72,66,68 respectably. It brought me to a low C in my nursing program 75 is passing anything lower you flunk out. I felt down and out and was nervous as heck going with 4 more test to go. I could not afford to fail another test. I finally changed my study routine and muted out the distractions. I recovered by gradually improving 76,88,96,94 on my final 4 tests which put me back into a B avg going into my medsurg final. I crushed it with a 84 and finished with a high B. To my advantage I started the semester strong so just incase I bombed a exam which I did more than once I had “wiggle” room to improve, BUT DO NOT hang your head over a bomb exam or worry about possibly failing out. If you do its another distraction and you may continue to fail tests. I talked to my instructors one on one, ask others on their study habits, stayed up later than I usually do to garner the information. Another thing stay ahead of your instructors, always read ahead on your unit chapters, so it won’t be such a “weight” on your shoulders going into the next test. Once I took a unit test the day I got home I started reading over new material and the next test would be 1.5-2 weeks away.
ОтветитьI am glad you included the bible
ОтветитьWhat's the song that was playing at the end of the video!? Sooo beautiful :)
ОтветитьOMG thank you so much. I really needed to hear this. Im always comparing myself to the "great" students in my class and I'm always doubting myself. I sucked up my pride and asked them for help lets just say I'm about to take this beast down. Reach out for help, cause it's not going to just find you. Study with other people study differently than you normally would. Don't wait until the last minute!
ОтветитьTotally watching all your videos... working on pre reqs right now... been preparing ... found the school ...talked to the the Admissions ..
Call me crazy .. still will be 2 years till ill be there.. but dreaming big!
Love this!!!! Im in an accelerated BSN program and its is HARD!!!!! I missed the cut off with my HESI and the final grade and so I have to take Fundamentals again....feeling a little beat down...any advice?????
ОтветитьJust got my final grade got 71 failed 😢😢 so discouraged
ОтветитьThank you this is THE best video I needed this
ОтветитьI think it can be a bit one track to state "don't be the person who wants the bare minimum". I think there are people who learn differently, or have a hard time with a specific program. They try so hard, and fail out. They come back or goto a different school and are successful.
My first program had a 96% NCLEX, but a 26% retention rate in the program. There were some people who were AMAZING. I mean, truly wanted and could be great nurses, that failed out/left, went to another program, and succeeded.
My first med surg class? 77 out of 110 students failed the theory. OB? 30 out of 45 failed the math and couldn't continue in clinical.
Please don't perpetuate the myth that people who fail out of nursing school do so because they're lazy, or not trying hard enough.
You made some great points, and the one about complacency and "one day patients lives will be in your hands" is profound.
Love the scripture! Needed it! Having a tough time focusing in nursing school but this video was perfect in the timing!
ОтветитьI haven’t started nursing school yet and this video made my eyes get watery. Thank you for the motivation!!!
