Old school American powerlifter here. I did it in the late 70's into the early 80's before my spinal discs were permanently ruined. There were no bench press suits, deadlift suits, wrist wraps for grip, and only squat suits were legal. Also, we were drug free lifters. All of this business where these lifters use what we couldn't and wouldn't back in the day, is trash sport. The only lifting that's legit is raw and drug tested. I know I had a raw, drug free, and three judge adjudicated 420 bench press at 242 lbs in 1983. Unless a lift is performed at that standard, it's three red lights, "no lift". One more point. Most of these big "dead lifts" nowadays are accomplished by lifters who fail to fully lock their knees and fail to draw back their front deltoids. That failure is overlooked by your single judge, who lets these heavy lifts slide by. That, too, is bullshit.
ОтветитьI believe a Farmer pulled a deadlift of 890lbs back in the late 1800's....yet he could not bench press his own weight of 180lbs...technically, the Farmer held the real
World Record for nearly 100 years...strength, is Nervous System driven
poor boohoo Beasty eddie
ОтветитьEddie's deadlift was unlocked, this event was pre-rigged and the referee is an amateur.
ОтветитьYou sure about that 1k pull being the first in 2006? The dude from Sweden did that in like 1993…pretty sure.
ОтветитьWhen your asshole feels like it’s about to shoot out from your body your almost lifting enough weight per the deadlift.
ОтветитьDoyle Kenady broke the world record in the deadlift at the 1986 Budweiser World Recorder Breakers Meet Deadlifting a 903-pound World Record
ОтветитьThe amount of steroids and HGH these guys must consume is insane. Amazing some of them don't keel over on the stage.
ОтветитьInstead of fighting about who's record is the most "official", can we all just appreciate how fkin insane humans can be if we set our mind on something, and be inspired to always be the best versions of ourselves like they are?
ОтветитьI’d like to shed some light on Open Powerlifting website, which appears to have made this entire video possible thanks to their immense record keeping on their website
ОтветитьBenni gave legitimacy to straps. To see the same struggle when he was strapped and not strapped, proved straps were needed to progress from that point.
ОтветитьEddie is still the strongest i dont care what you say Thor couldn’t do in front of a crowd and is mentally weaker than Eddie
ОтветитьThe deadlift world record story ends with a terrible boxing match haha
ОтветитьBenoit Côté, worst pronunciation of all time
ОтветитьCoan???
ОтветитьRip their shins
ОтветитьI raised 502 in my dream today💪
ОтветитьI loved it when Thor made fun of Eddie for being "small", only 380lbs 6'5''. Those people are giants...
ОтветитьWould be awesome if you mentioned the conversion to KGs or put that on the screen
ОтветитьDems some big bois
ОтветитьHonestly, what in the hell is a pound? Why aren't people using kilos?
ОтветитьWhen talking about the health implications of these incredible acts of mental and physical strength, I find it odd not to mention the amounts of drugs needed. Especially when the costs of strongman are in the spotlight.
ОтветитьImagine if summoning salt was on the production of this video
ОтветитьThey need to have separate sumo and traditional deadlift competitions.
ОтветитьFu cking re tar ded imperial numbers
ОтветитьIm done with lbs… please tell us in kg aswell. Kg is the Universal unity..
ОтветитьI cant stop thinking somethings fishy seeing thors 501, especially with the drama about it.
Dunno why as its pretty legit still. Imo its not the wr as it wasnt a competition but its still super inpressive.
Bro ain’t nobody gonna talk bout the dude popping blood vessels bleeding out his nose n shit
ОтветитьThe Deadlift is a great doc by you and I learned a lot, don't stress the comments too much lol.
ОтветитьWhat's up with thors smile?
ОтветитьJohn Kuc
He probably got bullied for his name so started lifting
Love seeing the quality of video go up as time goes by, it's insane how far we've come
Ответитьenter jamal browner
Ответить501KG deadlift does not count to me...
ОтветитьThor's static strength is ever so slightly higher than Eddie's because he's just a bigger man. He also won the boxing match because he's larger and more importantly trained better and longer. But pound for pound, Eddie is definitely stronger and I would take him as a street fight partner over thor.
ОтветитьEddie hall is such a baby
Ответить'This caused a great amount or confusion among strongmen' there's got to be like 3 strongmen who genuinely believe thors lift should count as record, there's a reason certain rules are in place and methods shouldn't be broken. Most people in the community think it doesn't count, especially given how much thor can whine at times surrounded by his crew of yes men..... not mentioning any controversial competitions where thor clearly lost but thought he should've won at all whistles
ОтветитьLove the video. Keep up the work!
ОтветитьSUMO DEADLIFT DOES NOT COUNT
Ответитьi have grown a beard instantly just after watching this video
ОтветитьMy lower back started hurting just watching this.
ОтветитьEvery record is conventional, and people still call sumo cheating
Ответитьthis feels like a summoning salt video lol keep it up g
ОтветитьNo, its NOT picking things up and putting them down. You ARE pushing the floor down. End of story.
Ответитьayo the dude that makes the rythm game videos!! immediately subbed
