How Everyone Reacted To Andor Episode 4

Yea nothing has been happening in these last 5 episodes

A different point of view: I REALLY wanted to like Andor but it's sooo slow. Boring. Unneeded hiking in mountains. Dialogue that seems unimportant. Very few action sequences and the pacing is like a snail. It's also a BIG problem when side characters (Luthen & Bix) are more interesting than the star of the show. Cassian said "I've been in this fight since I was 6 years old" and "you're not the only one who lost everything." Why didn't show open with 6 year old Cassian witnessing the execution of his parents? How's THAT for a showstopper???

Look. I don't need Lightsabers, space battles the Force or Easter Eggs. But where are the alien species? Where's the interaction between the Empire and citizens? Where's the weekly edge of your seat intrigue and action? How the hell is this Star Wars?

I HATED the Kenobi story so why did I tune in every week despite the fact that I hated the Reva storyline; fundamentally disagreed that Obi-Wan would leave Luke; hated that Kenobi shat all over Canon? Because it was exciting and had a good balance of action, dialogue, character building, and pacing. So you see, I can be non-biased. Ive been a Star Wars Fan for 40 years. I love Films 1-6, The Clone Wars, Rebels, Rogue One and The Mandalorian. I liked Bad Batch and Boba Fett a little less. Did I hate Eps 7-8-9? Yes. Beloved heroes and canon were shat on and shredded mercilessly.

Show Tony Gilroy admitted in a recent interview that he's "not a fan fan" of Star Wars. Why would ANYBODY be hired on a SW Project thet didn't LOVE Star Wars? Kathleen Kennedy needs to go. Her continual crappy decisions diminish and destroy George Lucas' Legacy at every turn. Lucasfilm needs a new leader desperately.

We've got your typical star wars fair with Mandalorian, now we've got bourne-esque espionage action, next I want a sitcom that takes place entirely within Dex's diner.

This show is totally garbage

"Why does it feel like so much and yet nothing happened in this episode"

That's the type of story arc they're using. Some episodes set things up, some episodes put things in motion, some episodes are conclusions. It's not like a cartoon where everything has to be neatly wrapped up in 30 minutes. Have some patience my man.

every time I see the old guy, all I see is Boot Strap Bill from the Pirates Of The Caribbean... it is the same actor and probably because I don't recall ever seeing them in another movie...

I want to see Disney release a full series that's nothing but mindless, brain dead action. Very little dialogue and pretty much zero plot. Because that's apparently what some people want.

Of course Cassian is using a knife to shave. All the actual shaves are used as komms in the Star Wars universe.

I do appreciate that the references aren't being shoved down the audience's throat. There's something very refreshing about how casual they are.

It wasn't an episode that moved the plot, but man it did A LOT of world-building.

If it builds the world, if it expands and develops the characters, then EVERYTHING happened. Compare this show's NOTHING to RoP. This is, so far, a brilliant series.

the reason it felt like "nothing happened" is that this is the first part of a story that will probably conclude in 2 episodes. if they didn't release the first 3 episodes all at once, you'd say the same thing about the first episode.

Not even one mention of them namedropping the Rakatans and implying the existence of the Infinite Empire, smh.

So many references to the wider SW universe, pretty awesome as it shows the love the writer has for SW but of course we knew that. This can only get better as the Imperials haven't really arrived on scene yet other than the Intelligence Bureau. As in Stormtroopers, ISDs etc although we did see a pair of Ties in EP4.

When did everybody get so impatient? All of a sudden “nothing happened” and it’s too slow just because a full scale war and genocide doesn’t break out every episode?

Personally, I’m a type of person that loves world-building, good writing/dialogue, and set up. We’ve gotten all that (plus some action too, still) in these first 3 episodes and it was incredible.

Idk, I’m also someone who loves all the politics and senate scenes in the prequels. So maybe that’s just my taste cuz I know how many people hated it (though I love to see more and more people coming around to that over time!)

Either way, they’ve set up this nice little heist for next episode, and after that there’s still 8 more episodes where I’m sure the stakes will only continue to rise and the battle will only continue to grow.

I felt the same way, a lot of people saying this was more exciting than the first three episodes… not at all for me. It was a lot of people talking in a room lol But I’m still loving the show!
