As someone that is actually from the DRC this is something so cool to see. Not much people actually know about our history. So seeing people discuss it makes me happy:)
ОтветитьI think a few of the child slaves may lodge complaints against the Chinese investments
Ответитьvery interesting, thank you very much.
I would like you to share more of african history.
Although I've never experienced a war, I've heard heartbreaking stories from friends and family who have. It's important to remember to be kind and show love to everyone, no matter the circumstance.
ОтветитьIn order to understand this you first need to know what is the meaning of Bantu then we will break this riddle
ОтветитьI have to correct you, it's not like there were no people who could lead or manage. The notion that the only way for leadership is the western based one is completely wrong. There were many educated people in Congo who were also members of the African liberation. Please either do a comprehensive research or let the lions tell their own story!
ОтветитьLong live Tutsi
ОтветитьOh no, the Swedish translation of the video title is horrible! It has särskrivning and capital letters on every word! (In Swedish titles you just capitalize the first letter of the first word of the title)
ОтветитьHow can you mention Leopold without also mentioning the MILLIONS of Congolese he killed?!
ОтветитьFor all Congolese who keep asking why he skipped over Lumumba; he only had 13 min to discuss the struggles of the DRC from pre colonial period to present. Also congolese need to get over Lumumba, the CIA gave OTHER Congolese a hand in killing him so what? Who never hear arabs mourn for years for their "jihadists" detained in GUANTANAMO. All I am saying is Lumumba died fought for the DRC and lost, we honor him by moving on and making sure that we reform the great DRC🇨🇩🇨🇩
ОтветитьWhile decolonization had to happen, i think it happened too quickly when it did.
ОтветитьHow is this age restricted?
ОтветитьI seriously think it would be better for Congo if the UN would mind their own business. Sure, many people would die, but at least the country can finally sort itself out. Right now, it's a neverending struggle of unstable governments and short lived democracies, supported by the outside forces. Wouldn't it be better to have it solved once and for all?
ОтветитьHow good he showed the map during the episode. I am sure everyone knows African map for heart
ОтветитьThank you so much
ОтветитьAre you on CIA payroll? I used to take your history seriously but after watching this episode, this brings down the quality of your work. Why did you skipped over how Eisenhower and Belgian government gave CIA permission to kill their first democratically elected leader, Patrice Lumumba. This is why Africans should tell their own history.
Ответитьlast time he for got the open letter I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT THE OPEN LETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьReally European colonisation is the pure evil, no it's a resident evil
ОтветитьI did not know much about the Congo other than watching Zaire played in the 1974 World Cup in Germany, historic moment for countries south of Sahara. loved this video as intro to Congolese history. thank you
ОтветитьThis info struck me. I've never heard of it.
ОтветитьHats of to you man!!! I used to watch this channel during high school!
ОтветитьWhy is this video age-restricted???
ОтветитьSo is the border between Congo referred to as the Congo-line? 🤔
ОтветитьAfrican wars reminds me of a europe from centuries ago. Maybe they need a Pope too 😗
ОтветитьBelgium owes the Congo a lot of money.
ОтветитьPatrice Lumumba?
Ответитьage restriction....
ОтветитьBelgium really SCREWED this place up !!!
European rule was just bad but the former Belgian Congo was by far the worst of all the colonies
Omg , I'm from India and I literally had no idea about any of this. Wow. I knew a bit about instability in Uganda due to id amin but that was it.
Hell thanks for this video
So the Chinese with their average penis size of 3 inches, is controlling a nation where the average penis size is 7.5 inches, interesting!
ОтветитьFunny how you spent a few seconds mentioning wicked leopole and wicked Belgians but spent several minutes talking about bad African leaders.
ОтветитьClassic episode. Very informative.
ОтветитьOkay. The fact that this video is age-restricted is extremely troubling. I assume it's for the "violent" part of the the community guidelines, but clinical descriptions of violent events for the purpose of education should not fall under the "shocking" umbrella. 😡
ОтветитьPaul kagame is a hero
ОтветитьPaul kagame is a hero
ОтветитьFirst you didn't explained it how King Leopard treats those innocents in Congo during his snaching. Patrick Lumumba supported to be the president of Zaire before Mobutu; but he was murdered by the outsider and he was very educated person.
ОтветитьThis completely, not Congo or Zaire's history.
Ответитьmobutu's name wasnt "joseph-desire" omg, youre confusing Laurent desire kabila (who was the president that came AFTER mobutu) with Mobutu Sese Seko. if youre going to tell my country's history atleast get the simple facts right.
ОтветитьI'm congolise
ОтветитьIndeed. I was lucky to have a great HS history teacher who made sure to have an expansive outlook, but Africa did get neglected. I think it came up only about Liberia, Italian invasion of Ehtiopia, some brief mention during cold war and Rwadna and our lack of response. I knew little of this conflict and wow....glad to have learned hur almost wish I didnt. How tragic
ОтветитьYou can't talk about the independence of the DRC without mentioning Lumumba. And you know that. Highly disappointing, I used to really believe your history lessons.
ОтветитьChinese invasion is another chapter for their future historians...the colonialist used their labor to get cheap goods...the Chinese use their own labor for cheap raw material access.
ОтветитьI love crashcourse
ОтветитьDR Congo is not poor
Ответить
