Does this camera support memory cards larger than 64GB? For example, 128 GB or 256 GB.

I regret selling mine. It was so fast to grab and get family video or photos.

Hi there. Which would you recommend? Second hand G16 at 148usd or lx100 at 222usd or sony rx100m4 at 333usd? Have a olympus epl2 with manual lens but need too much of tweaking. wanna get something more versatile for short trip

There has been enormous progress done in mobile photography over the past one year. I'm not sure if cropped micro4/3 is even worth it anymore. Top phones that use 1-inch sensor with multiple exposure image stacking is coming at micro 4/3 real soon.

Hi Gary, some questions for you, I'm currently using Fujifilm X-A7 with the XC 15-45mm kit lens+hood as my main camera (which is not so compact and portable), and looking for seconday camera that's compact and portable for me to bring inside my crossbody sling bag, is the Lumix LX100 still good for 2023 onwards? since i found the used LX100 around my budget, is it compact enough that i can use it to replace my smartphone to take photo during travels, and how's the image quality performs versus nowdays smartphone computational photography? not to be used for something professional, just for some instagram feeds use

Thanks for the video! I’ve seldom noticed any focusing problems, the LX100 is snappy and accurate for photography. I have a compact leather case designed for the LX100 which makes it very easy to bring the camera along on the shoulder. I suppose it will minimize the potential problem with dust entering the camera interior. Removing the camera from the leather case is done in two seconds. I also have Nikon and Fujifilm cameras (APS-C format) with prime lenses, but unless you make very large prints the sharpness is comparable.

I have been using the LX100 for 7 years now, and just replaced it with the Leica D-LUX 7, which has the same base as the LX100 II. I think that this camera is more useful than you think, even for professional use it is really good compared to other compacts. The sensor in the LX100 II is the same as the 20 MP sensor in the GX8. I mostly use the camera for situations where I can or do not want to carry my big Lumix S1, and where my phone is not good enough. Professional shoots count too, my LX100 has done very well.

I mostly agree with your pros and cons. The most important pro for me are image quality and operation, the most important con is the lack of a microphone jack and the lack of weather sealing.

My camera has dust on the sensor as well, very annoying. I plan to fix it myself, it is difficult but should not be rocket science. The LX100 II (and my D-LUX 7) will still have the dust problem.

It is a shame that Panasonic killed off the LX series, there will not be a successor...

Thanks, great informative video on the LX100. I saw it going ‘cheap’ and looked a great portable / pocketable walkabout camera, but after watching yr video I decided against it… I’ve never liked moving / extending zooms anyway. Thanks mate, ‘hv sub’d

I have the Leica version, the D lux typ 109. It's a great little camera and fun to use. I take it to cars and coffee or family outings and it produces nice images despite being older now. Get compliments every time I carry it!

i bought the LX100 II as a backup camera to my Fuji X-T3. I wanted something more portable than the Fuji X100 with some zoom range. I do not experience the focusing issue you describe with the LX100. I also bought a Megagear cover from B&H camera that fits like a glove and gives you a little extra grip. This protects the body and the top of the cover snaps off for shooting.. Occasionally I use a can of pressurized air to clear dust from around the camera body. So far so good. I'm very pleased with it. Thanks for the review

Nice overview, thanks. I'm interested in the LX 100 for taking cycling and camping, but the dust issue rules it out for me. I've had that problem with my Ricoh GR, and it's ridiculously expensive to get it cleaned, and really quite frustrating. Not being able to stop down beyond f4 really isn't a satisfactory solution for me. To answer your question, I really want to get my GF-1 into regular use again. I took most of my favourite photos with that camera.

Great video! So glad we cross paths, because since last week I started looking for a good camera for Vlogging, and for my B roll. One with good stabilization without using a gimbal, and has good weather seal, and probably with a monitor side screen or something like that. But one that's not over the $2,000 price range. Presently, I have been using the GoPro Hero 9 black, but I cannot zoom and with low light outdoor, not as bright and crisp. And my DJI OM 4 stabilizer has some issues too. I just watch this video from start to finish, and I will be watching more. Thank you.

Amazing you reviewed this I've been looking for a carry everywhere camera for city/street photog. My g9 is a little to big. I've heard of the dust issue. I don't think you can self clean ? Does it have a sensor clean option that helps knock the dust ?
