My mom was born in Finland and came to Canada as a 12 yr. old. Half the family was from there. I remember as a little kid going into the sauna, a twice weekly occurrence, with other family members both men and women naked. No big deal unless you want to make it one.

It's quite impressive how good the Finns speak English even though English is not their native language.

No big deal... there are Juice bars here in the USA where the young women wear nothing except high heels and a smile. Then they will sit down with you, after you buy them a drink, and hold a normal conversation like there is nothing abnormal or strange taking place. I have lost faith in humanity. Nice casual view of our Finish friends mentality and behavior. I don't know how to speak Finn but I have been told that sentence construction makes it get her whole meaning with the last words (verbs?) and therefore it is paramount impolite to cut short a person. This is the same for Finn speaking English although they might be more forgiving it remains still annoying for them.

I have worked with Finns and found them stand offish, but some of that is explained here. Only been there for a cpl of hours so cannot comment on the social scene

A woman told us a story once about Thunder Bay, Canada - a city with many ethnic Finns. It was a warm day in early spring so she and another lady decided to go cross country skiing naked in the woods. They turned a corner in the trail and were embarrassed to meet an old Finnish couple skiing in the opposite direction.

Sexuality is absent in the nude saunas because most people in the nude are not sexy. In fact, they are not appealing at all. Still, it would be fun to try, and hope to see a pretty young woman. From Florida where bikinis at least are common on the beach.
