Vietnam Army Huey pilot 11-67 to 1-70. Never had a Huey let me down and was fortunate to pick up 54 people who had been shot down. Most dangerous missions were over North Vietnam and Laos with MACV-SOG. Most rewarding was flying troops in from the field who were going home at the end of their tour. 19 when I got there and just turned 22 when I came home and got out. Most rewarding flight as a civilian was my first flight in the B-777. Flew to Frankfurt, Germany and the Check Airman was also an Army Warrant Officer helicopter pilot in Vietnam. We did have a Cold Beer.

I came into this world on base at LUKE AFB PHX AZ '66 my Dad was stationed state side his younger brother my Uncle did 2 tours in Vietnam, also had both Grandpa's in WW2 and came home all fingers n toes like my Uncle.
I wanted to serve to give back to my country as my family that had, but couldn't I'm Medical having Athsma since age 5 kept me from it and it's bothered me.
So I drove Big Truck for 25yrs trying to do something for my country, I've seen alot of her n now I'm going to enjoy her, but it's because of you and others before you and the ones that gave their all and didn't come home I thank for my freedoms you have made that possible. I live now 12miles from a Special Opps Base where they fly the C-130 gun ships and when I see our Airman I thank them for their service have respect for them in keeping my freedoms.
So to all our service personnel serving here or Abroad and to our Veterans THANK YOU and Merry Christmas and come home safe n Healthy 👍👍👍😎✌️👋

As someone said, we bombed them into accepting our concessions. McCain was FOS, the war was over our army was falling apart from drug use and insubordination, we lost. Of course, Nixon won re-election, opened China and our manufacturing, later chip building etc went there. You left out a very important player in this game played by our presidents. The RF-101 Voodoo responsible for photographing the results of the bombing. Save for the pilot's sidearm they were unarmed and to make matters worse they were expected. I saw what can happen to their aircraft and was privileged to drink with them occasionally.
