Just throw a spoonful of TSP with every load!
ОтветитьAh!!!!!!! Your dishwasher heats the water
ОтветитьWhen i have greasy dishes, I throw a pod at the bottom of my dishwasher along with the one in the compartment. Works great everytime!!
ОтветитьHave you heard of anyone having problems with the plastic plugging up their pipes? I have friends that had to call plumbers to remove the plastic from the tablets that they used in their dishwasher
ОтветитьStill rinse because its harder to clean the inside of you dishwasher amd the dishwashers filter, than to rinse your sink out
ОтветитьThe earth still has the same water on it from the dinosaurs, you're not wasting it
ОтветитьSo you watched tech connections
ОтветитьHad nooooooo idea there was a filter that comes out. Thankfully, I’m still in my 30’s 😅 Thanks girl!
ОтветитьHmmm ... don't use water to rinse anything but run the water until it gets hot at the sink? There is always that one dish or whatever that has too much stuff on it. Either let your dog help out ( LOL ) or while you wait for the hot water to magically come out why not rinse those dishes that have too much stuff on it. It is all subjective anyways. Do what ya want. 🙂
ОтветитьSoooo rinse my dishes while I wait for the water to heat up and prevent clogging the filter as often then? Got it.
Ответитьour dishwasher heats the water
ОтветитьWhat do you do about the residue the remains on your dishes and utensils after using a dishwasher. It looks very bad for health. There’s no residue when I do dishes by hand.
Ответить"you've just been using it all wrong". Such an arrogant statement. You have no idea whether people are using their dishwashers correctly or not. Just add the words "may have" in there ("you may have just been using it all wrong") and you'll have a headline that does not offend people, encourages them to watch the video and lets them learn IF they have been doing it incorrectly.
ОтветитьSpell check before posting. YOUR not YOU'RE.
ОтветитьSadly I’ve tried all of this, added a rinse aid, tried several different kinds of soap, and my stupid cheap GE dishwasher my apartment has just sucks. The maintenance people even said they were cheap machines. Top rack never gets fully clean and stuff is always greasy.
ОтветитьThe #1 "trick" for your dishwasher to work better is the hat water thing. I've had to convince dozens of people about it. Most think the dishwasher will heat the water. It will, eventually, but it takes a long time to heat the water and in that time cold water is washing your dishes.
I tell people who don't believe me to run their dishwasher empty for 20 minutes without running the water until it gets hot. After that check the water temperature in the dishwasher. You will be surprised how cold the water is.
Pro plumber here:
1) Pre-rinse everything b4 loading. Not all dishwashers have drain filters. Many have disposal type grinders that pass solids into the pipes, which eventually clog.
2) There's no shortage of H2O on earth, just gov mismanagement.
3) Running water at the tap until hot comes out isn't wasteful, but rinsing is? No .. use the initial (not) hot water that first comes out to pre-rinse dishes.
Ok this is blowing my mind. It’s amazing how many people still think you don’t have to rinse your plates before loading… anyone who says there a professional or is the installer of these things and says you don’t have to rinse or your dishwasher works better if it has something to rinse off (like the inside of your washer has high tech food targeting laser designators lol), sorry to say, they’re lying! Example as to why, if you don’t rinse and it still comes out clean you’ll be even more wowd then if you didn’t and then be a more happy customer willing to write 5 star ratings. Other reason, is your dishwasher will break faster leading to a replacement faster, shocker.
Before I get into the reason I want to at least thank you for mentioning the filter, no one cleans their filter let alone their whole dish washer (yes, you’re supposed to clean the thing that cleans your pots, pans, and dishes).
Reason for pre rinsing your dishes in the sink is because larger particles or dense and sticky material will get trapped in the waste line! This clogs up and is most likely where a leak will start.
If you want your machine to last a lifetime, if you want to save thousands of dollars worth of damage, pre rinse your plates, etc. none of these videos ever mention the waste line out of the dishwasher. Where do you think everything goes once’s it done?! Incredible how people don’t get this…
I do overstuff my dishwasher instead of running 2 cycles (8 gallons). It works just fine if you rinse the dishes first (1 gallon).
ОтветитьYour middle drawer in the dishwasher can adjust up and down to fit bigger stuff on the bottom! Newer dishwashers have that.
ОтветитьSo, you watched Technology Connections.
Ответитьyour dishwashers won't get the water hot by themselfs?
ОтветитьUh, maybe when you rinse your filter, don't let the crap go down the drain.
ОтветитьIf you have no pre rinse drawer, can you put another pod on the bottom of the dishwasher or just put a bit of dishwasher soap on inside door?
ОтветитьYour manual tells you which type of detergent to use pods vs liquid, etc. If yours says pods, I'd suggest making your own vs plastic covered ones. They are super easy
Ответитьmy soap pod holder is broken...WHERE do i put the pod?
ОтветитьThanks for this video. Single dad over here. 😅
ОтветитьI think I have the same dishwasher as you. I struggle with everything not drying during the dry cycle, do you have that issue? If so, how have you managed that?
ОтветитьDishwasher pods should be avoided because it releases micro plastic that goes soon or later to the ocean, and consequently, fish eats that... later on we eat the fish.
ОтветитьYour advice is inaccurate….at least partially so. Running the water to heat is up is useless. Modern dishwashers are connected to the cold water supply and it is the dishwasher that heats the water.
ОтветитьYou don't need to flush the dishes before put it in the newest dishwasher. Actually the manuals say the opposite.
ОтветитьGreat advice, but I prefer to use MUCH LESS water by doing them by hand, AND it's so much faster. AND I'm not spending time loading, bending and unloading - - who needs it? not me.
Ответитьgreat Vid, so happy you took that deep dive so the rest of us can stay in the shallow end, TY!
ОтветитьI have the Bosch dishwasher model SHP65CM5N and I’m very bummed out it doesn’t heat dry, is this the one you have?
Ответить++
ОтветитьThanks so much, I learned two things:
1. hot water for rinsing.
2. clean the filter 😅
Regards
Omg! That filter tip is hands down the most important one! I didn’t find out about it until 4years ago (and I’m in my mid 50’s).
I wouldn’t call myself OCD (definitely ADD) but I take that thing out after EVERY WASH (it’s just two of us so we don’t run the dishwasher every day).
I have a longhaired cat. Love him to pieces but, I kid you not, every time I find his hairs in it!!!
Go ahead, be grossed out. Publicly sham me. Chastise my house keeping (I’m a Gen X’er so I don’t have the time or energy to get bent about what you think about me). But, if you have any pets that shed, check that filter!!!
Holy guacamole these are great ideas!!! Finally a useful video!! ❤
Ответитьyeah if you did not know there is a filter and never cleaned it...
ОтветитьDont rinse your dishes but run the water until it's hot.
ОтветитьFor the pods...they are only effective if they drop into the drum. I've seen, on numerous occasions the pod getting stuck inside the soap door and the dishes only get rinsed the entire cycle. Pods are lazy and aren't as good as actual powdered or liquid soap.
ОтветитьIf you're running your water to heat it, why not rinse your dishes? Btw, your dishwasher hearts up the water even if it's already hot. They sterilize your dishes. Not sanitize... sterilize!
ОтветитьI'm not a dishwasher! You're a dishwasher!
ОтветитьDont forget to remove your flex spray arm and clean out the spray holes every so often. They get clogged up and clean less efficiently if not cleaned.
ОтветитьThank you - I now feel less guilty about running my half or three quarter loads - my gut said I was right
ОтветитьAnother item to keep in mind...scrape off BIG food and particles, but do NOT RINSE. Another reason to not rinse is the dish soap works better with soil on the dishes. Also if you dishes are rinsed and almost clean, the soap will ETCH glass and metal if you dont give the soap something to interact with.
ОтветитьDon't forget to give your dishwasher the "TANG TREATMENT" once every six month or as needed.
Ответить
