Wait. Why are we talking about hybrids again? How much did Toyota pay you? Toyota is a joke. Go away. I own a Polestar 2. End of topic

I have a Prime. I have no idea if "auto" hybrid switches between EV and hybrid and the non-auto EV/Hybrid does the same, does it matter what I select? (the later also offers EV charge mode, which I think I get).

We drive our Rav4 prime in "Eco" mode almost exclusively. It's not the least bit sluggish. The only time I change it is when I want to pass on a windy road, and not because I couldn't do it in eco mode, but because I feel it's safest to have maximum acceleration available if necessary.

I have a 2013 Camry hybrid, no options on sports mode. The car has 150,000 miles and the bars are 3/4 full on the pedal. I’m just a square that drives about 40 miles a day My question is when should I clean the battery vent to prevent draining the battery.

in plug in hybrids and you use nav, eco mode makes it so that it prio's ice on highway and saves the battery for roads meant for slow speeds

I actually appreciate your intake and information. I owner 2021 prius and try to take care of it as best as possible and always have left it in echo mode and on the freeways. I leave it on power mode but a random question. If given the option, which would you prefer for economy, Mercedes or Toyota? And if so, and if you made a video, please send me the link, thank you

Question concerning EV MODE: Have they "fixed" it yet? My experience with Toyota hybrids is a 2012 Camry and a 2013 Prius.

When I go out to my cold hybrid and want to relocate it (say from the front of the house to the garage in the back, 200 feet max, 10 mph max) I don't want the internal combustion engine running when I know it won't have time to warm up. It does anger me when EV mode won't work because the engine is not warmed up.

If the engine is warm EV mode is automatic, why would I need a button?

I sincerely hope EV mode is fixed on the new hybrids as I will be wanting a new one some day.

Thanks for any information on this that you can provide.

I use eco all the time. My understanding is that if you need 100% power just floor it. And you will get 100% regardless of mode.

Thanks again

Sport mode in new 2023 Prius is actually fun though on twisty roads. Never use for long periods of time though. Fun to good to have that power when needed and cool how car handles in sport mode. More power to AWD rear wheels to hug and carve out the Twisties. Engine in sport mode reminds me of a buzzing Indy car sometimes... well not quite but close enough lol
Really like what they have done with new Prius and recommend to everyone. Fun, sexy and fuel efficient. What more can you ask for.

I have a 2013 prius and now it's not getting gas it won't go back and forth from Evo to gas. It seems like it's only in Evo and the dash goes to nothing working or one or the other, the battery was 3/4 full but it's not charging on the dash. I've never had this happen before

I'm in Australia with a Toyota Corolla 2021 hybrid. I do a lot of peak traffic driving. Sometimes my EV Mode will work up to 37km/h and then some other times it will let me get up to nearly 60km/h before deactivating because of the speed limit.... For the life of me I can't figure out the computers deciding factor for which speed limit to implement.

Ответить

For heavy traffic, just use power mode to slow down battery drain. If you drain your battery, the engine will rev high for a long time instead of idling.

I have found EV is good when you are in the city, at a stop sign or light. When stopped, hit EV mode and it will use the Battery to get started, then when it hits 25, the system automatically turns it off and resumes normal driving. Its that initial take off that seems to use the most gas, so taking off from a stop in EV mode seems to really boost the MPG monitor in the dashboard.

Thanks for this video! I have a Toyota Highlander and got a warning message telling me to check the hybrid system, pull over the vehicle immediately and call the dealer. Would you happen to know how we could diagnose exactly what’s going on and how to get it fixed?

If for some reason the battery is dead, is it possible to still charge it?

Love your channel AMD! I'm a toyota fanboy, owned camry, hybrid camry, GR yaris, and now crown hybrid! Can you please confirm that once you floor the car, whether in eco or sport, that everything goes too 100, the ICE and MG2? my understanding is that these modes merely change the curve or throttle response to things between 0 percent and 99 percent throttle but at 100 percent they all behave the same. Let me know if i'm mistaken! I only say this because my brother puts his hybrid in sport when trying to drag race his CT200h (silly but he likes racing other normie cars) and I always tell him once you floor it it doesnt matter sport mode or eco you'll get same result.

Sport mode it actually makes sense to be a separate button, like a boost button, a timer enabled buton, easy to press like on the steering wheel, press button before a takeover or a short timed traffic stop where u need quick take off, so it will come back to normal mode after the preset time expires.

Who buys hybrids dont buy them for racing so u neednt have a permanent situation of using sport mode, u need to activate sport very occasionaly so it would be better suited to have a button as described above.

On Rav4 2016-2018 can you change the modes with the steering wheel buttons in an instant? I don't like the idea of taking my hand off the steering and searching blindly some small button somewhere on the central console in the crazy traffic that's here.
