In a 3rd world country like USA you really need these. In first world only businesses and servers need em
ОтветитьJust choose a country where you don't have Power Flickering or outages like Germany. :-D
ОтветитьOr, hear me out: You live in Germany, where power outages are basically unheard of
ОтветитьI remember one of our internet providers gave us one for free for signing up. Thing was great. My brother got it in the move and now I want one for myself again.
ОтветитьHello Community,
If the electricity goes out the ups goes in accu mode but does it go automatically in the normal mode when the electricity is restored ? So if in the night the electricity goes out for a couple of seconds and the ups switches to accu mode does it automatically switch to normal mode at the time when the electricity is restored?
Nice guy
ОтветитьDon't need it.
ОтветитьWhen the company I was working for recently went bankrupt I was able to buy their "old" UPS for 50€. A UPS which is more than 1200€ new. I am currently using it for my PC, two displays and a freezer and lasts a little more than 1h of gaming.
Ответитьim just wrong for not having money
Ответитьhow much?
ОтветитьYea but wi-fi is mostly connected to WiFi tower that goes out if the power flickers or wents out
ОтветитьI live in a first world country, so power outages happens every few years.
ОтветитьAlso worth mentioning that the internal batteries on these need to be replaced every 3-4 years. (Usually Sealed lead acid, like a car battery). It's not terribly expensive but neglecting to replace them can be.
No one tells you it's got a consumable until your power lasts 35 seconds at 100%.
No
ОтветитьThis is ridiculous, most power supplies have a built in surge protector nowadays, you don’t have a server rack you have a gaming pc it isn’t tens or thousands of equipment and terabytes and terabyte of files
ОтветитьHow have I managed 24 years without one?
Ответитьi dont need one i live in denmark witch has a 99.99 % stable power grid with is more or less protechet agianst all disasters in denmark so unless i lightning hits the transformer station we are secure and even that cut the powergrid but has protechen so it reatches no houses with the lightning on the grid
ОтветитьMy entire home in on one huge backup inverter system.... still got surge protectors and buying another when i finish building my gaming pc
ОтветитьSurge protector is all you need unless you need to backup something, most games have decent auto save so a PSU isn’t necessary for gaming at all really outside of creative games maybe but these are for productivity like offices.
ОтветитьI live in iraq and the black outs here are very frequent so a UPS is a MUST for your PC or internet router
ОтветитьIt's probably a good idea here too. But I think it's way more of a problem in the US than it is here in Europe. At least here in Denmark things like brown-outs are such a rare occurence I don't really consider it. And the few times it has happened I have just turned the computer on again and everything has been fine. I've had a lot more problems due to user error (myself cutting the power) than electric faults. And in that case the surge protector wouldn't really do much.
ОтветитьJust make sure you don't put too many things on a UPS as they are limited in wattage (aka VA or Volt Amps). Preferred that the wattage of the devices consume no more than 50% of the utilization. Also never put a laser printer or high powered appliance on a UPS.
ОтветитьAnd I have a gaming laptop
ОтветитьWhat 3rd world country do you live in?
ОтветитьUps + surge protector= UNLIMITED POWAAAAAAAA
Ответитьfellow third world country gamers who have been using this forever where yall attt!!!
ОтветитьIf I have 750watt psu, which ups I should buy?
Please tell me, I'm a newbie
In my country we don't use ups solutions we use inverters with deep cycle batteries.
ОтветитьHell yeah that’s a great idea! 💡 😀👍🏼
Ответитьbecause of how power hungry PC now, probably the best PSU is the one using Truck battery
Ответитьonce my pc fried bc i didnt installed ups, even tho ive had this, the problem that i didnt thought that thunder is gonna strike like 50 meters from me, so now i use my ups, but just incase now im turning off pc on thunderstorm anyway...
ОтветитьJoel from Rooster 🐔 Teeth 🦷 has entered the chat…
Ответить99.9% of people don't need this.
ОтветитьPpl in Pakistan and other India💀💀
ОтветитьOnce I started working in IT I realized how important a UPS was. I have the exact model of the picture you posted. It even has a nice feature that will gracefully shutdown the PC when a power outage occurs (or if the battery is low) so you will be fine if you’re downloading a game overnight or something like that.
Ответитьlaptops get this as a benefit of having a normal battery and external power brick
ОтветитьI used to go through psu's once every year or two. Surge supressor didn't help. Got a UPS and never had another psu problem. Considering they are about the same price as a good psu, it was well worth it.
Ответитьif you have to buy surge protection just move country
ОтветитьI got a Cyberpower UPS for Christmas, but it's only rated for 1000 watts. My PC's PSU is rated for 1200 watts. What do I do?
ОтветитьMission unclear: I now own 20% of UPS
ОтветитьYOUR PSU ALREADY CAN DO THIS things !
They are called protections. and mostly of the psu are ready for shit like this
or just have solar panels
ОтветитьLearned that an UPS was essential when I was in the army. I was a commo soldier and I had two UPS for my signal equipment.
ОтветитьWe have never ever had an outage as my city has underground power lines a surge protector is plenty for me
Ответитьis ok use only surge protector? here where I live battery backup are expensive
ОтветитьThe other option is to spend 80k on a generator for the whole house
ОтветитьCan you demonstrate how you install it do I need to buy 2 or just one 'cause one is upstairs in my room and the other one is in the garage in the power supply for a Wi-Fi
ОтветитьKonocktivity
ОтветитьI think its a little excessive to have an uninterrupted power supply
ОтветитьI prefer to buy from APC and Cyberpower btw
Ответить
