I’ve never seen a company get so much hate.

Let this be a note to future companies that dare spread agendas and forget they exist because of the tolerance or support of people.

Now if we had this same attitude towards bigger issues within this nation we’d see significant change

The game actually was able to break even before the company shut down so they were on their way to profitting off a bad game

Kinda like System Shock remake. I never played system shock till then and I liked it a lot, played and explored the entire game and enjoyed the lore I got to experience for the first time.

I don’t know, this Flippy guy is a little too vague about all this to still not put the blame on Volition. Like let’s say Deep Silver did say to make it about friendship. OK. But did they say to write it the way Saints Row is written? Those Fast and Furious movies are about friendship and the tone of those isn’t Saints Row 2022. That Once Upon a Time in Hollywood movie is about friendship and it ain’t like Saints Rows 2022. Punisher had friends in Volition’s Punisher game, and Saints Row (the original game) is basically Volition making an open world Punisher game without Punisher. The Saints seemed pretty chummy in the old games. I just don’t get how the friendship thing is really to blame for the direction Volition went with anything.

Creative director for the game was Brian Traficante, I can absolutely guarantee that no one at the executive level made creative decisions on the game beyond how it affected making money. If they were aware of any concerns about the change of theme causing a backlash from fans they would've been brushed off as a small minority by the creative team. The fact they killed the studio tells you everything you need to know.

Basically was a father of SR community, litterally. Was bring "from Rags to Riches" - from just modder and gamer of SR games, to a position of one of Lead Devs of SR games, and also a MAIN Community Manager/Marketing Manager before DeadlySteph came (yes, that girl which said - "SR Fans are terrorists" as a SR community manager!).

Also, he made that SR 2 famous mod - "Gentlemen of the Row" (which was shown in video), which basically was his big bag of patches, tweaks and even activation (broken-ish, but still was working) SR2 DLC on PC, and other fun stuff (Chainsaw Rockets, Rocket Minigun, and etc.).

Basically - was a Main Modder, Main Moder and Admin of SR Forums, Maker of bunch MAIN mods for SR games, and Main Community Manager. So, like i said - Father of SR Community.
He was so well respected - where even in SR Reboot, was Statue - tribute him.
Unlike that DeadlySteph - which words you was saw in video (yes, this screenshots - are her words, from Discord SR Channel (full of shills and bootlickers) ).

And why Flippy was talking about him - in Last Days of living of IdolNinja (He found out - he has 4 stage Cancer), he was working on big official patch on SR2, which was supposed to be fix all famous notorius problems of SR2 PC bad port.
And as you can see - Woke devs of Volition, basically killed that project. Flippy and many famous SR bloggers (SaintsGodzilla) was working on that Patch - and now, it was killed. Imagine, how they are angry.

I wanna know… if y’all was like the creative director of saints row reboot… what would y’all do ? Would y’all continue from 4? Or start all the way over

As someone who grew up playing the original Mafia I can tell you it's not as good as the original. Graphics sure. But everything else is just a reskin of Mafia 3 and the story is changed in many ways for the worse.

All dat needs to happen now is for dem awful disgraces to be unlisted from digital stores and release source code of sr 2 publicly

I mean it's a shame but it's also deserved. They were just out of touch sine Agents of mayhem.

I feel bad for the employees, especially since they're based in an area with no similar employers.
But, I mean everyone saw this coming. And their reaction to criticism has been baffling. You have to take a spot check in stride if you are a creator. Just as an adult, really.
The whole "woke Saint's Row" conversation is tiring and juvenile. The characters in SR have always been terrible. Not offensive, just bad. And Johnny Gat was one of the worst. I think the problem is that the latest game was cloying and patronizing.
Anyway, tangent over.

What was the actual evidence that Deep Silver was behind the terrible tone and cringefest? Just the guy that made that video? That's tenuous at best. Volition was entirely too cocky and arrogant to fans that voiced displeasure with early previews for it to be the publisher's fault. They already had the failure of Agents of Mayhem that they should have learned from and didn't. Was Deep Silver responsible for that failure as well? I don't think so. It's entirely too US zoomer cringe for me to think Deep Silver was behind it. Europe doesn't have the same zoomer cringe we have over here.
