Quoting PEAK hp is the not really tellring much of a story. It's the hp and torque the engine has throughout its operating range that dictates its performance. That's why the Mclarens wins out. Smaller engines with turbos will always be disadvantaged. Even super high tech racing 4 cylinder engines to an extent.

I was with you until you started boasting. Try a K swapped Mr2 with sequential trans and I bet money the Mclaren will fall. Plus a good set of radials and a driver mod would have made a HUGE difference. The gap stayed the same after the MR2 stopped spinning.
Not to mention $ 150 - 200K vs $15 -20K ? I could build an MR2 for less than $20K that would not only gap that Mclaren but run out of its natural life. LOL !!!!

More fun in the MR2, and it requires way more skill. Anybody can stomp on the pedal and go in a straight line, I have little respect for people who brag about their super duper fast computer on wheels that manages the powertrain for them.
