Nothing the federal government is doing is based in any science as per there climate change policies

I don’t know who sets up the cameras for these interviews, but I have noticed, on almost all of the channels interviews, the camera is focused on the background behind Smith. I don’t know if this is intentional, but she almost always is slightly out of focus, but the background is in focus.

Alberta Edge
News and insights from The Tyee
Kiss Your Emissions Cap Dubai
In this week’s cover story, Graham Thomson unpacks what Danielle Smith was really doing in Dubai, and it wasn’t selling the Alberta “story” of carbon capture to global oil and gas stakeholders.
“She is using COP28 as a bully pulpit to show the anti-COP folks back home she’ll fight Ottawa on any stage, be it provincial, national or international.” writes Thomson.
Joining Smith on her desert excursion were “more than 100 Alberta delegates” (as reported by the Calgary Herald). According to a tally by Andrew Leach only 43 of those names have any association with government. Airfare costs? Over $18,000 each, says Thomas Lukaszuk.

It’s all worth it though to be recognized with the ignoble “Fossil of the Day” award from environmental advocates. The distinction is usually handed out to national governments, but Alberta’s sudden temporary ban on renewable projects could not be overlooked by the awards committee. Stiff competition, too, given COP28 featured such progressive climate action as a talk on ‘responsible yachting’.
The biggest Canadian news during the conference was Federal Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault announcing the details of Canada’s oil-and-gas emissions cap. You can read more on those plans right here, but just know that despite the only surprising part of this law being its “more modest than expected” emissions targets, the UCP still absolutely hate it.
David Climenhaga has a breakdown of the premier’s ‘belligerent’ response, in which Smith vows to develop a ‘constitutional shield’ to defend Alberta from Ottawa’s attacks on freedom. Hang on, he says, wasn’t the Sovereignty Act already supposed to be a constitutional shield?
“What will this new Sovereignty 2.0 Act be, then? The Alberta Sovereignty Within a Somewhat Less United Canada Act? Or are we going to skip straight to a unilateral declaration of independence?”
Smith actually seems more outraged than the oil companies. Kendal Dilling, president of the oil and gas industry Voltron that is the Pathways Alliance, tells the National Observer he’s “a bit mystified” by the premier’s furious response.

Born, raised, lived in Alberta most of my life. Family homesteaded BEFORE "Alberta" existed. Grandmother was secretary treasurer for local Social Credit party chapter. Alberta top to bottom. Danielle SMITH was NOT elected by voters in the province or even in the party. She is only in power because of rule changes that accumulated party leadership votes to her for the LAST BALLOT BECAUSE SHE WAS virtually NO ONE'S FIRST CHOICE. WhoTF does she think she is. HANDS OFF the CPP - UCP/Conservative party decimated the Heritage fund with it's poor management. How the HE"double-hockey-sticks" is this government going to claim it can manage the CPP any more effectively when they are far and away more extreme and less competent under Smith's leadership. Stupid - narcissistic arrogance. STOP THIS INSANITY.

Alberta public sector pension plan managers are reassuring workers and retirees their savings are secure after reports a provincial pension manager has lost billions in risky investments.

A reported $4-billion loss by the Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) has also reinvigorated calls for the Alberta government to stop forcing public sector pension plans to use AIMCo as an investment manager.

Danielle, if you want Albertans to have more money in their pockets how about we stop sending our hard earned money in to all the other provinces. How about bringing a halt to the Equalization payments that Alberta has been force to give and let us keep our money for a change. How about us keeping our money and letting us invest how WE chose, spend how we chose, and stop being the purse to all of Canada. We are suffering now but those provinces don’t give a rip and still put out their filthy little hands to take our money. If you want to improve Albertans lives STOP THE EQUALIZATION PAYMENTS!!!

In All Honesty, Danielle Smiths Court Challenge is a Win/ Win for the Governments- More so than for the People.

A few jobs and BUNCH OF TAX MONEY and PROFITS, for ALBERA OIL, is what this is really about - with Disastrous Effects to the WATER at the Very Least. It will be Felt HARD for MANY GENERATIONS!

Hard to believe that a Bottle of Water is the Same Cost (or More) as Gasoline...
and Having to Buy water will be the Governments' Next Priority.

"More than 2 billion people lack safe drinking water. That number will only grow.
"By 2050, half the world's population may no longer have safe water to drink or grow food"

Canada has 7% of the world's renewable fresh water. It is easy for Canadians to assume that they have an almost endless supply of clean, fresh water.

Our Natural Resources and BASIC NECESSITIES are Controlled by the Government$ and Corporation$ for Profit$; that is the Bottom Line; and that is what is Unacceptable to me.

I'm Not Advocating for Alternatives; but this is probably the Worst of ALL Alternatives.
Nor, will it Reduce the Cost of Fuel.

You want to leave something for your kids and Grandkids, and You have done just that... for MANY GENERATIONS TO COME!

The Cost of Living Keeps TRICKLING DOWN - Way to Go Alberta Oil!

Tar Sands, the Dirtiest Fuel in the World

The feds are trying to move land to “unesco sites” as well as move our “land back” to indigenous if they deem an environmental emergency…it was rolled out in BC with David Eby in January at the BC Natural Resources Forum. This puts feds in control and they are buying compliance and alliance with our tax payers $$ with very few benefiting from these corruption payments. We are under attack people by our own. :(
Tactics to divide us all and make us fear one another. Just gross :(
