Steve Wonda Presents: The Lost Recordings Vol. 1 - Late '90s/Early 2K CT Underground Hip Hop

These recordings were lost for many many years and found a few years back. I put them away and had no intention of ever releasing this stuff to the public/internet. This was all recorder between 1998-2004 at my low budget home studios which were more of just a couple turntables, DJ mixer, ASR and some other random gear that I was trying to learn how to use properly. The quality is not all that great as we used to record on cassettes and a basic home CD recorder unit back then. The CD-R disks also started to deteriorate from not being properly stored and damaged some of the sound as you'll notice on a handfull of the tracks. My spot was sort of a hub back then for local MCs and hip hop heads. We mainly just got blunted and put away many 40s and bottles of cheap liks and had fun recording stuff. Some of this stuff is decent and some isn't. We were all very young in the music game and life in general back then. A large amount of the songs on here feature my old homie who went by Citizen Kane aka Great Scott aka Prometheus, and a few other good friends and friends of theirs. I told some of them I wouldn't release this stuff but I did, sorry! This stuff brings back a ton of great memories as those years were some of the best of my life. Give it a listen if you're up to it. Hope you guys enjoy at least a few tracks on it and I might get a volume 2 up in the future if I can recover some more tracks from the beat to hell CD-Rs.
