BG3 Wyll Hexblade Paladin Beginner Friendly Step by Step Guide Baldur's Gate 3

I was mainly hoping for some info on which Paladin oath goes best with this build but you totally skipped any mention of level 1 of Paladin each time you respecced 😅

Why no darkness? I thought that was an auto pick as a hexblade with devilish sight?

The spreadsheet you provided seem to focus on dex instead of con. Is there a reason for dex?

I'm just spitballing here but, would 3 levels in Blade Warlock and 7 levels in Eldritch Knight give you a free action of Eldritch Blast+Melee every single turn? And because pact weapons also scale with Charisma, you only still have to pump 1 stat?

Hey great build been using a bit but why pick dark pact but not take advantage and pick darkness as a spell?

why don’t you use mods to get to lvl 12 and test builds this build would be awesome and that way you can figure out what works best for this build

fyi your first level skill proficiencies section is blacked out / no audio. t=227 to t=232. It looks like just a few seconds of nothing because it doesn't seem like any information was skipped.

the reason your proficient with the great sword is paladins can use martial weapons, is there any where i can find the spreadsheet?

Why wouldn't you go paladin at level one for heavy armor?

i think gameplay between levels would be cool showing what combos and spells to use. as a beginner myself i have no idea what spells to cast / combos and such when fighting. this guide is great for when i level up and allocating points. look forward to more videos !

Another option if you want to maximize single round burst damage. Instead of taking 7 paladin 5 warlock, you can take 5 paladin 5 warlock and then 2 levels into fighter. This would give you second wind, a second fighting style (defensive +1 AC), and action surge. Then proceed to take 6 attacks in a single turn and smite on every one that hits.

Seems like Ancients outclasses Vengeance hard in this game with aura of warding. Get Hunter's mark from helm or hex, and there's plenty of ways for one to gain advantage, might need to respec.

Great weapon fighting lets you reroll smite die, it's a BG3 thing. But it makes 2h smites WAY stronger. Always take it over defense. Even lets you reroll the fire damage die on everburn. Level 2 with that sword on a pally, you one shot almost everything at the start of the game.

let's talk about the beginning of the game : Why not paladin first, before 6? so we get heavy armor. Do you think 1-5 warlock is incredibly better than 1-5 pal or something like pal1, warlock1, pal2, warlock2...?

Hi thx for the videos, well explained. I tried the build, but when i respec, on the levelling interface, it tells me i scale with charisma (the little stars is just above charisma), but when i open my inventory, the stars is above strenght, which ruins the build. Can you help me ?

Can you please explain one detail. When you respec at 1 lvl paladin your primary ability becomes strength. This can be identified by the star icon next to the feature name. In addition to damage, for a paladin, this characteristic affects the chance to hit an enemy with a weapon or spell. At 3rd level warlock, you take a pact of the blade that uses the cha ability modifier. Does that only affect the damage or the chance to hit of the summoned weapon as well?
In addition, if u make a low strength like 8-10, your chance to hit spells at least decreases, as far as I understand, or not, and does primary ability affect the chance of hitting a weapon under the effect of a blade pact? Maybe need to max strength stamina and charisma like str 16 con 15 cha 17 other 8 especially if u want to wear heavy Armor? Or am I wrong, can you explain this case?

I think you have a ton of knowledge that can help people out. If I could offer 1 bit of constructive advice: when your mousing over skills and such, you keep moving your mouse around so fast that you can't read the tool tips. It really helps to be able to read what your showing.

What are your thoughts on the sentinel feat instead of the ones you mentioned? I've picked it and am enjoying it so far.

Why go up to level 5 in Warlock for extra attack when you get it down the Paladin line? Why not just go 3 levels for Warlock for pact of blade and the rest Paladin? Could even swap out those two levels saved on Warlock for 2 levels in fighter to get action surge?

I love how Larian have used 5e as a platform but not stuck rigidly to it and made it flexible enough for players to be creative and do essentially what they want. The fact that you can respec means you can essentially do whatever you want if you have the money and 100 gold is cheap to respec a character. They've obviously done this to make the game fun instead of stick to a rigid formula. Same as having the system in place to allow save scumming. It's obviously not a true way to play DnD but they're thinking about how limiting DnD could be in a video game setting and where that will limit their buying audience. The games pretty much set up in so many different ways for people to play how they wish

you dont need to carry all items, you can just send them to camp

Would love to see a similar video about Bard multiclass.
Perhaps your storm bard build from the spreadsheet or somethings similar.
I think college of swords is best for multiclass as you lose out on benefits if you don't go full bard with lore unless you go bard 10/warlock 2 or something like that.
I personally a fan of some kind of swords bard-6/warlock-3/X-2 variation (kinda like the storm bard build).

I respec from Paladin 8 to Paladin 5 + Warlock 3.

I think I like the other version with the googledoc better, but this is nice too.

Is this build not in the doc? I only see the other warlock paladin ones
