Black Conservatives vs White Liberals | Middle Ground

Alec is absolutely correct on a lot. I think the conservatives are speaking from a place of privilege. As someone who grew up in the south there was no push for our schools to be better outside of our communities. As far as college goes everyone got in where they deserved to go. However black students have significantly less help than their counterparts. I cannot count how many my peers had to rely on college administration to guide us through college while my white and Asian friends could rely on their parents. (My perspective is coming from attending 3 universities in the United States, 1 in Canada, and 1 in Mexico) This significantly slows down and hinders students regardless of the test scores. And as chandler said this is largely due to destroying of communities through well-fare.

My only gripe with Chandler, like with many people in political discussions in general, is that he is associating the Party with the Ideology. Its hypocritical to act like the Democratic party retains the same views as it did pre-civil war, but then immediately deny conservatism doing the same. (not saying either stayed the same, but its more-so his refusal to allow his logic to be applied against him that hinders the ability to have a productive debate)

Aside from that, every non-Alec person in the room is very well-spoken and intellectually informed, it's a shame these kinds of people are a minority in a country of predominantly Alecs of both sides.

Destiny is a great example of someone willing to compromise, theres a reason he was what the video ended on, because he summed up many of these issues in an objective way.

@Chandler welfare did not take anyone out the homes. Several men were willing to abandon their familial responsibilities then and statistically they still do it now… not much has changed yes ? For the fathers who are healthy and stick around, you are awesome but you are in the minority.

Go to any library in Fairfax County on a school year week night, and you’ll see tables of us studying. Look at the nearby tables and you’ll see their moms making sure they aren’t fooling around. Long ago in Korea people would wear their education level on their necks.
