ОтветитьHold on, you can't say that Calories out > Calories in doesn't work that's absurd. It's a basic principle of thermodynamics. Energy can't be created from nothing so using more calories than you eat will always cause weight loss. Exercise will preserve muscle mass if done correctly so the only thing left to go at that point is fat.
The reason "obesity rates skyrocketed" historically is often to do with the ingredients in processed food which become extremely cheap and convenient in a world where it was increasingly true that time = money.

ОтветитьYesterday I did a 20 hour fast. Today I did an 18 hour fast. I did however eat a sweet potato and the carbs are a little high on SP's.
But I also stayed with mixed veggies, one hamburger pattie for dinner, and bacon and eggs for lunch/brunch or whatever we call it.
Just stay off the processed sugar and you'll be fine

ОтветитьI want to do intermittent fasting 16/8 but the longest I can go is 13 1/2 hours. I have no gallbladder and if I go any longer then that I get diarrhea. Any ideas on how to go longer without that problem.

I've been trying to do 20/4, but have diarrhea every day. I'm going to order your psyllium powder and start using it before bed. Hoping that will help. I didn't have any problems with the shorter fasts, 16/8 or 18/6. We can't take any road trips till this stops!! Does longer fasting cause diarrhea? I started a probiotic three days ago.

ОтветитьThis is the first time diet - what you eat - and body functions make sense to me. EVER. I have thought this all along but I am not a scientist or health specialist. My body and brain were telling me this. Thank you for helping me to understand the facts behind my intuition. I am not trying to lose weight but I am finding that as I age I am gaining weight ever so "slyly" each year. My goal is to remain active and healthy in mind and body as I age. I am glad I found your channel.

I really like the theory behind intermittent fasting but I heard it could be bad for women with Hashimotos and could cause more blood sugar imbalances. Any truth to that? I really love your videos.

ОтветитьVery well done! Thanks Dr. B. I've been on intermittent fasting for a couple of weeks now and have dropped from 200 to 195. (I'm 5'11") QUESTION. I roasted some pecans with butter and salt and ate a couple this morning. Did that break my fast? I'm settling in on the 16-8 and using it from 1 to 9, having my dinner round 6 but being able to have a healthy snack before 9. I also exercise before I come off the fast. Thanks!
