Thanks, a very clear overlook abouit the conalisation and deconalisation. It also let shows how unprepared these new country were to built a democatic system to manage the county. It is a complex matter but after the first presidents went, others came with less heart for the country and make the road free for corruption and as nowadayspointed out new dictatorships.

So, if Africans did not die in large numbers from diseases like chickenpox as they did in the Americas, how does it relate to colonialism? Please elaborate.

The Europeans need to go now!
Im in Africa now and colonialism is still very apparent.
They have stranglehold on everything.
Tourists from European still believe they own Africa.
Their behaviour and the treatment of locals is disgraceful.
The worst part, the Europeans dont even realise they are doing it.
Something has to change....the rape of Africa has gone on too long.
All European systems in Africa need to be torn up and a Centralised African government needs to take control.
Africa as one nation would take on the world.
The world would be knocking on Africas door for help.
Africa needs to unite......

The borders are still the colonial borders which cut across ethnic groups and join unfriendly ethnicities together. There needs a complete redrawing of the map in Africa.

Unfortunately african nations are still under colonial rule. White masters has been replaced by local governments only too pleased to act in the interests of international corporations or their former colonial masters. Most african nations are ruled by dictators installed and supported by foreign nations. Mostly their former colonial masters but also by international companies interrested in ressources to be exploited. The worst example are Congo-Zaire. An immensely rich country but the wealth are exploited by shifting dictators and foreign interrests.

The decolonization of the former Portuguese colonies was simply a huge mess. Millions died due to civil wars in Angola and Mozambique. Firing squads in Guinea Bissau, concentration camps in Mozambique, políticas prisoners in ALL newly independent countries and worst of all, no elections or referendums were held in NONE of those territories. Talk about human rights! You people make me sick. No wondet Africa is such a huge f@€# up!

First of all Africa existed long time before this moment , by the time of Kanga Moussa the richest man of all time until now , in fact the way européens took advantage of africa it's by division of kingdoms and different tribes ,selling weapons and look at africans killing each other for many centuries . The result of colonisation a smal part of african population had been alienated by the européen culture but not all of them fortunatly . It took years for blakcs africans to understand that the whites folks never learn somthing from the african culture even not the languages and well leaving in the continent like if they roll was to civilised blakcs for been what they are inferieurs of them .Until today people still beleive both side of thoses prejidices , but now the population of africa is twice more numerous than européen , despite africans still very complexed , they started to realise they can make it without européens countries.

I think the WW1 really helped as well. Most resistance before that was just disorganized raids from pockets of resistance hiding out in the wilderness for most countries. They never stopped fighting, but it was not effective. After their overlords sent them to fight in WW1, they came back better informed on tactics and strategy, organized more in secret societies and became involved in politics from the inside, but still with the same goal in mind. WW2 just gave the opportunity.

You know what I find hilarious? Oil protesters are polled to be the same people who protest in the name of Black Lives Matter (BLM.) However, if big oil was to stop, there would be mass famine across Africa would result in hundreds of millions of death. I have no sympathy for colonized countries. Singapore has three times the economy of their colonizer. But, when it comes to Nigeria, I can see has a much better hope than most of the other emerging countries within Africa, given their resources.

As an African from the drc (Congo dr) I feel like we should’ve listened to father Nkrumah and became a country now we are suffering we have common issues that require common goals we own our continent Africans for Africans

And I’m using my basic sense and I’m 10

Wake up people of Africa wake up wake up my fellow brothers in poverty because we may have been beaten in the awakening of the game but we haven’t been beaten in the endgame

We need a united nation with one language with one government

We need to stand up to neo colonaisim

And that is the African dream ❤

Let us learn together. Remember those who fought for their land were called terrorists. Calling them terrorists means they are not entitled to the protections of the International Humanitarian Law or Law of War. Convenient isn't it.

The idea of uninhabited land was justification to cease the land. The Papal Bull and the Doctrine of Discovery legalised ceasing land that was not occupied. As a result what ever land they ceased could be describe as "terra nulius" meaning uninhabited.

However, Nigeria actually gained independence on the 1st of October, 1960, not
August 3rd. That's Niger's independence day.
