Soda is like 95% water and 5% extremely cheap carbonated syrup. The cups cost more than the soda that fills them.

Plus, people who drink carbonated sodas have 300% higher chance of throat and stomach cancer and a vastly higher chance of osteoporosis. So you're paying outrageous prices for a higher chance of a life-threatening and/or crippling disease! Yay!

And all those plastic-coated cups, plastic lids, plastic straws, and plastic straw-covers just fill up the limited space in our overflowing landfills even faster! Screw recycling, right? I mean, who does that?

Just wonderful stuff, huh?

I worked at Wendy's in the early 90s and we cooked everything from fresh. So it's weird to me how he says a restaurant serves frozen food, when even fast food isn't frozen.

If honest ads were honest ads: an old man stands in front of a blank white void and badly reads an old cracked article to you off a teleprompter with zero production value.

Yeah this is why I always tell my friends "let's pick out something cool in the freezer section in the grocery store" whenever they want to go to a restaurant. They're both going to be okay meals, cooked at a central factory and frozen and shipped to you, but at least I didn't pay somebody $20-50 to microwave it for me in a filthy corporate cardboard house.
....But if air fryers can make blooming onions this might actually be the thing that makes me get one lmao

Eating out is only getting worse. With the rise of minimum wage in a lot of areas companies use ut as a reason to cut staff. So jobs that barely got done with three people now are run by one or two. And the first thing to go us always cleaning task. Ovens, ice machines, deep fryers, everything that used to be deep cleaned on a rotation is skipped to maintain the order speed and what ever area customers can see.

Work in a deli and there are so many health codes. And the icing I do think is a health code violation and they can actually shut down the restaurant for that.

The irony here is that restaurants often operate at razor thin margins, so not only does the customer get a bad deal on their overpriced food, but the restaurant barely makes any money off them either. It's lose-lose all around!

Its wild that so many see the idea of proper homecooking as a new concept. Used to be, mom would cook for the family.(Mom's homecookin) Anytime people would eat out, it was to give mom a break, you need a quick bite to eat or you forgot to make lunch, mix it up, or if youre on a trip. Unfortunately, as prices for groceries go up, less and less people have a firm confidence in the kitchen(though youd think with so much on the internet we'd be better) and less time as both parties work, things like sponsorship meals, eating at resturants with deals, and good ol pick me ups have been rising. We need to go back to the old ways of meals. The family together, eating a wholesome meal, and bettering our health in the process...

Funny thing about aioli is that it's not supposed to have any egg in it, which mayonnaise does. So, yeah, anyone serving "aioli" made from mayonnaise is flat out lying.

Also funny (rather not so) is "vegan mayonnaise", as in egg-free. Yes, that's aioli. Why is it not advertised as "aioli"? Ask the marketing department who assumes that everyone is dumb and treats us as such rather than do a better job at creating glanceable education for those who chose to eat vegan, but have not heard of aioli.

I remember when I was in high school in 2006 and I was deciding what to do for a living, I remember average chef salaries were $40000-80000 and it hasn't changed since, in fact most cooks make about 25k working full time 20 years later.
