You know what I did I ? I DEbloated windows. I installed every app that came that is completely taking power, I also uninstalled the bloatware that came with my computer which is armory crate just delete that s***, then of course I set to balance or battery saver. And finally I switched my display to 60 hertz and play the game at 720P. It's a Big difference! Yes I know you bought a 300hz laptop, but in reality you want battery time? Go to 60hz or even 30hz if you can. On a windowed size 720p 60fps game, is super smooth!

Hi, I purchased new laptop. Dell G 15 5520 i5 12th gen 16Gb.From 1st day onwards I'm getting a battery drop of 1℅ per minute. I checked task manager, cpu at 1℅, Dedicated Graphics 0℅, memory 5.8GB, WiFi 0 KBps, Integrated GPU 0℅. No external devices connected while testing reports. Design capacity of battery is 54,891mWh, Full charge of capacity is 52030mWh ( which reducing every next day). A total of just 100 min of backup I get on STAND BY MODE(which is with only display onn and no other function on it) I I talk with Dell and they finally agreed that this laptop should give 3-4 hrs of backup on stand by mode. And they ready to replace with new battery.I kindly request you to share your opinion on this scenario that is my battery has a problem? And if yes then should I allow dell to replace battery of new laptop or should I opt for complete laptop replacement? Waiting...for your reply my friend.

hello sir I don't know if you will see my comment but my gigabyte aorus 15p battery is draining while playing even if its plugged to the charger is that normal
my charger is 230 watts the GPU is 3070 130 watts and processor is i7 11800h

I can't manually change the refresh rate, cuz the only i can change the refresh rate is when i switch Nvidia and made a custom resolution.

My battery life sucks.. It only lasts about 30m - 1hr

Just a heads-up for those wanting to undervolt. Recently OEMs have prevented undervolting due to a security concern, it's more common with the newer laptops but may eventually make it to older laptops too. So don't be surprised if you can't undervolt.

Welp, i'm using a 10th gen GS75, and sadly my CPU does not behave well with undervolting. The max I could go without it becoming unstable is about -0.075v

I bought a Gigabyte Aero 15 classic last month for 1300usd. 16gb, 512gb, core i7 9750 nvidia 2060.
Awesome, but shit keyboard, it gets RED Hot, and battery last 2.5 to 3 hours max, even on battery saver.
I will try your tips but I'm not impressed.

Hello Mr. Own! I found it interesting how you halved the CPU power by setting 50%. Since my G14 goes down from 120hz to 60hz while I play on battery I think maybe I can lower the CPU power and still play as good, I have the 8-core 4800hs and I think that even crippled this CPU should be good enough for 60hz, in the G14 the bottleneck looks always the 2060. I will try this and post if I find any interesting results. May I ask you if lowering the CPU power lowers its frequency? Do you think disabling some cores or reducing the power can improve frequencies? Thank you Mr. Disown, have a nice day :)

Thanks for this. I had the Alienware M15 R3 with 300Hz screen and 2080 Super. Optimus is not an option for these systems and the best I was able to get while only streaming with all battery enhancements on and the screen set to 50% was 1 1/2 to 2 hours tops.

Question is how to do these all option with just a single click.

On my 8th gen i7 mobile, i just “underclock” the processor to 60% of total power. You can do it in the energy config of windows.

And the temperatures never get over than 40°c.

I undervolted my MSI gf63 (i5 9300H) with intel xtu to -0,125 and save the profile. But whenever I reboot or after shutdown, and check on HW monitor the offset back to default. I think it is because msi already put a power limit to msi gf63, so i cant save my profile. am i right ?

Every gaming laptop manufacturer should have an option to do these automatically when on battery: Disable dGPU, set refresh to 60Hz, lower TDP and total package power. With the amount of total watts these systems can use it's so easy for them to drain the batteries super fast.
