But wouldn’t riding in the drops be more of an aero gain than cutting the bars?
ОтветитьThe rear disc wheel is an obviously good choice. Any race that allows it, you should use it. Even if you are light and its windy. Doesn't affect handling. People like to tell stories about the one time a huge gust blew someone off the road but gusts that big will just do that, disc or not.
ОтветитьThis bike is so unhinged lmao. Great set up.
Ответитьthe riders voice is grating , horrible.
ОтветитьOk I am bored there a bloody genocide going on. grrr.
ОтветитьJust a thing of beauty!
ОтветитьWhat a loveable dork.
ОтветитьTT helmets are the shame of cylcing. no amount of watt saving is worth looking like a SCi FI moron 😂. although specialzed 's is as good looking as it can be . And we dontt even need to talk about the visma helmet
ОтветитьWhat, no aero 'spirit of gravel' tache?
ОтветитьAt this point I'd probably just install a flat bar.
ОтветитьAwesome can’t wait to see the results. Great video.😃🚵♀️
ОтветитьComparing this to the unbound from 10 years ago makes me pretty sad...
Ответитьthis guy is awesome
ОтветитьLove the no drops. Dont use em either. Should cut.
ОтветитьIs he retarded or something? Why does he talks like a 5 year old?
Ответить“Ribbed for your aero pleasure…”. 😅
ОтветитьJust get a hardtail MTB. So cringe
ОтветитьAero is everything 🚴💨
ОтветитьGravel is now officially as funny and weird as early 90s mountainbiking
ОтветитьYou use the drops on sketchy downhill sections for better control.
ОтветитьWhen I raced Ironmans my cycling buddies would make fun of my setup. Now look. I come over to gravel and you jackasses copy me 🤣. That said, I want that disc wheel.
ОтветитьThis bike isn't weird at all, what's weirder is other riders' resistance to these ideas.
ОтветитьStupid things for 1 Watts savings 😂😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьSaved 50g on cutting the Drops and added 12g by puuting the sticker on the rear disc..... Oooookkaaayyyy.....
ОтветитьIt would be really weird if any of these super weird, special bikes didn’t have the same SRAM groupset. Boring.
ОтветитьCamera guy Tyler nailed it.
ОтветитьDNF unfortunately
ОтветитьStupid setup for gravel. What an idiot
ОтветитьI never use the drops either and always wondered what this might be like. it's almost like bull horns but compatible with regular brifters
ОтветитьOh wow another gravel “racer” no one’s ever heard of who hasn’t won anything doing something ridiculous
ОтветитьBrilliant content again Ben.
ОтветитьHilarious, love when people take marginal gains to the nth degree 😁😁
ОтветитьSo, a mid 90s MTB?
Ответитьall this prep and DNF, I'm curious what happened?
ОтветитьI thought the gnarlier gravel events would see a shift towards more XC-MTB style cockpits and wheel setups but instead we've got whatever this is
ОтветитьDnfing with all that time put into thinking of the set up is a bummer
ОтветитьIt really does not matter who wears an aero helmet, world tour pros, amateurs or unbound gravel racers, they always look super dorky with those helmets. But hey, you do you, i prefer style over functionality at cycling :P
ОтветитьStart with his shirt ! Where did he get that????
ОтветитьTwo things-
1) Holy Moly that arm tan. Please keep that in good health!
Secondly, this is very conditional though. But having drops can actually be an aero benefit because it trips up the air for your legs. I recall this being a factor in TT arms during a wind tunnel testing someone was doing, also why laces have shown to be more efficient.
well i guess this question must be asked, were did chase finish and what was his time?
Ответитьnot even offended by the bike, but you really chose that outfit and left the house? jesus christ man
ОтветитьI’ve been theorizing about cutting the drops off for 10 years. Very few people use them to any significance.
ОтветитьWhere do I begin is exactly right
ОтветитьIs this r/bicyclingcirclejerk?
ОтветитьDNF? Drops Needed in Future?
ОтветитьNever thought I'd see Chase on Ben's channel, i'm used to finding him on the local trails. 😂
ОтветитьBen, you had way too much fun with this. Need to at least ACT like it’s hard work. -- JayP
ОтветитьWhat this didn't work out well. Bonk at 113. Ouch. Next year.
