The Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (TAEC) is a cultural heritage social enterprise located in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang, Lao PDR. Since 2007, TAEC has inspired visitors by exploring, celebrating, and preserving the diverse ethnic cultures and peoples of Laos through professionally curated permanent and special exhibitions, events, lectures, and craft workshops.

The Centre’s primary activities are two-fold: a museum, and fair-trade handicrafts stores directly linked with artisan communities across Laos. The Centre has expanded to include a growing collection of ethnic minority artefacts, a small library, family activity centre, and outdoor patio space for special events.

TAEC has emerged as a regional leader in cultural heritage management, community development, and promoting intellectual property rights for artisans (www.taeclaos.org/oma). It is the only independent resource and learning centre for both foreign visitors and local citizens dedicated to the country’s many and diverse ethnic groups.

This video was created for TAEC by Angels of Impact, a social enterprise elevating voices of women and indigenous entrepreneurs addressing poverty.
